Did Golovkin box hes ears off like Floyd did? Did Canelo draw one and win one? What did I miss? Canelo easily landed on Golovkin but Spence will be some unhitable ghost yeah? Like he was with Porter and Brook..

You and I both know Canelo lost that first fight - no matter what Adelaide Byrd said about it.

But we need to understand WHY he lost.

Canelo is not the defensive wizard when someone walks him down, regardless of size. And again, skill wise, I see Spence tagging the hell out of him all night long.

Herrera was a very crafty veteran who knew what to do to make it deep into the fight where he knew Danny slows down. Danny even slowed down a bit late vs. Matthysse. Peterson looked bigger because he was likely doing PEDs. He was popped a year or two earlier. I think Crawford will score a fairly wide UD over Garcia. I doubt he stops him. I think Bud has a better chance of stopping Manny and Errol than he would of stopping Danny or Shawn. Speaking to your point about Garcia needing a better trainer...I think he realizes he has great chemistry with his father and that at this point in his career, Danny's skills, tendencies and strengths are pretty much baked-in. Angel simply fine tunes that which Danny does best and banks on his chin keeping him out of danger against real punchers.

One thing I've always respected about Garcia is his business acumen. He invests his money and owns real estate. You also never read about him getting in trouble in clubs or getting caught up in the child support trap. He's a pretty wise dude.

You have a point with Danny tiring late in his fights, maybe that's why he only throws 1 punch at a time. Maybe he only throws 1 punch at a time, out of fear that he'll gas out completely towards the latter rounds. If thats the case he has to work on his stamina, sprints, high altitude etcetera. As far as his father is concerned, your right it's the chemistry between them, he loves his dad. In some crazy way Angel is good for Danny's soul, almost like he as if he was Danny's younger brother. I believe if Danny fought Herrera now that he would beat him decisively, if not knock him out early. Now this is where we disagree, I believe if Danny beats Errol, and I think he will. Then in 2021, he's either fighting Porter, or Crawford possibly both, and i can see him beating them both. I do see Terrance Crawford as the # 1 pound for pound fighter right now, in 2021 he's going to have some big fights. Coming off of a big win against Spence, it will take him to another psychological level. At that point, and time he'll be at his very best, and wont be losing close fights. Lets see how he does against Spence in their fight, and we'll have a better idea of what the future possibilities are. I do respect your analytical views on boxing, they are sharp, and fairly accurate. You can't ask for any more than that, because no one knows whats going to happen in the future. In closing your 100% about Danny's business acumen, and his being a role model for staying out of legal, and criminal trouble. He is one decent individual, and a productive citizen, and someone that others can look up to.

I didn't say size will or won't play a factor. I said SKILL FOR SKILL, Spence is the superior fighter.

Canelo is good. VERY good.

But Floyd showed us over 12 rounds and Golovkin showed us over 24 rounds that Canelo is there to be hit. He has defensive weaknesses when you are the aggressor. He's only effective when you let him be. Thus why Cotto struggled as much as he did.

I'm pointing out that it wasn't the skill level that made Floyd/Oscar close, it was the weight.

Let's see how he does vs. Spence Jr. first. I seriously doubt Danny or Errol can beat Bud. Bud has another gear that neither of them seem to have. If Errol had it, no way in Hell a blown-up featherweight like Mikey lasts 12 rounds with him. You're right about Danny's stamina concerns because I can see how measured he fights, almost like he only wants to throw a certain number of punches each round.

I think Angel is a good dude and I think it says a lot about Danny that he wants to keep his father close and always wants to look out for him. Who's to say another trainer might not have meshed with Danny and he might not have had the career he's had. Remember that Khan was piecing Danny up the first two rounds until his father calmed him down and he scored the KO.

I've been following boxing since the mid 70s. I remember all the Puerto Rican greats because I followed them all. Sammy Serrano, Esteban Dejesus, Alfredo Escalera, Wilfred Benitez, Wilfredo Gomez. Macho Man was one of my 5 all-time favorite fighters. I watched his fights on CBS Saturday and Sunday afternoons. When I first start buying boxing magazines, the fighters that really got me interested were Ali, Jimmy Young, Escalera, Miguel Canto, Carlos Monzon, Benny Briscoe. Those were the good old days.
