  • Comments Thread For: Lennox Lewis: I'm Still The Undisputed Champion

"It's funny, I told my friend, Ah man, I feel I'm in this box,', said former undisputed world heavyweight champion Lennox Lewis. "And my friend looked at me and said, Lennox, climb out of the box' And I was like, You're right, I need to climb out of the box'. So something simple has helped me but before I was in a mess."

When Lweis was fighting I always hoped he'd get beat I never got on the Lewis train but after I aged a little I can see where he took over the division. I have to give due credit. The dude had skills among other things.

Great champion, one of the 10 best in history. Seems he has become a figure of scorn with the Eddie Hearn Johnny come lately casuals

mike tyson was heavily coked up, kept doing prison time and wasn't himself
holyfield was a steroid using blown up cruiserweight

            overrated...and an overrated era.

Lewis was a bad man and he knows it. Always enjoy hearing Lennox’s insight, has a great mentality.

I was the same yanno bro. I kind of doubted him ever being a dominant champion after the McCall loss. Fair to say he proved me wrong and I respect that.

                  chatting ****e as always

20 yrs ago, lennox lewis was HATED by black boxing fans in the US. They were full of the same venom they've projected against AJ/Whyte etc 'he a bum, he trash, dat wannabe limey cracka a55 aint **** yo' etc

it was one of the first things i picked up on when i was new online, those old yahoo chatrooms, the boxing ones..
id go on there and type
"lennox lewis is the best hw"
                  they'd go mental on there.

they always rested on the 'prime mike tyson' argument too.

It didn't go unnoticed to see lennox lewis back audley harrison and david price, but legit HATE on David Haye.

this was him backing audley harrison
                  https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...on-567148.html

he's a very underhanded type of guy, very sly with his words, knows how to take little digs at people and totally blag it.

he knews audley harrison and david price were ****e, but he would exaggerate his praise for them to make himself look like the good guy.
Yet how was he on David Haye, Tyson Fury and AJ? the real guys

                  here read this
                  https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/boxing/...wis_91550.html

it's the exact same formula where he's conveniently lent support to Wilder whilst trashing AJ every single opportunity he's had.

total bs from you to claim he's 'hated' by 'matchroom/eh casuals' without even giving any attention to the relevant contexts.

what annoyed me was the way lennox was VERY vocal on the 50m thing even though we could clearly see it was a fake offer. for example, you have finkle telling dan rafael that there's NO rematch if aj loses. Then you have frank warren and finkle telling the british media 'it was a 2 fight guaranteed deal'.

                  BUT
that on it's own was one thing

when wilder turned down the $100m dazn offer..that was the moment for lennox to admit he was wrong and diss wilder in the same manner.
when asked "what did you think of Wilder turning down the offer?"
                  his answer began with

"IT'S LIKE I ALREADY SAID, i would have taken the offer"
he hadn't said anything prior to the question, nowhere, not on twitter, not in any interview. he chose these words very conveniently to detract any shock value from an direct condemnation of wilder...

but fkin hell..if that was AJ?
he would never stfu about it, he'd still be tweeting about it.

really does show himself up as an envious guy.

the only other guy in boxing similar to that, is Floyd mayweather. he sets traps for guys who are viewed as his successors.

notice a lot of people dont actually like floyd, not even his own protege tank davis.

I had a window fitter come in and look at my Photo with Ali , then a picture of Lennox to which he said 'wasn't he boring nothing like Joshua' ....! Never offered him a cuppa!
Lennox was well up there and underrated by some as was another great Holmes.
