Lack of discipline outside the ring. When he was at 135 in his prime, he didn't hardly have any weaknesses.

Thats what i was going to write, plus not having enough work ethic to be fit throughout the whole year.
If he didn't balloon up in weight and stayed strictly to a boxing way of life like Mayweather or Terance who knows how much more that could have taken him.

I don't agree with this. Sure, he doesn't miss weight and always comes in shape, but coming down from 177 doesn't sound like Mayweather/B-Hop hard work and dedication year-round.

He was kind of a person of extremes and just a wild man. I think part of why he was so amazing is *because* he had that in him.

He had an uncommon ferocity and intensity that Floyd and Bud just don’t have. And coupled with real and natural pugilistic genius, he held quite an edge when he was on and often times, his bad days could be enough, too.

He was just a defiant beast. Volatile as all hell. Similar to Tyson in a way. These dudes just view life differently than most super disciplined machines like Floyd or Bud or Canelo.

                Yer good points Hypno.
Part of the reason he was so great could have come from his outlook on life and his all or nothing approach.

                  He lacked discipline. That's it.

                    Partying.

I saw him live when I was a kid in the DR just 3 weeks +- before the Hearns fight. He didn't even train for that.

He was in a national TV channel singing "salsa"
