I think CNelos going to be leaving huge $ on the table because he had 8 fights @ 35 million per and that’s $280 million in total . For Canelo to get 35 mil on PPV hed probably have to sell what probably at least 800K-1mil Which Canelo has proven he can only do with a opponet whos among the top drawS in the sport.

I don’t think there’s any fighter out there with the exception of maybe Spence in the Future who will be capable of doing big #s PPV with Canelo. If Canelo / Smith was a PPV it’d do the same #s as when Canelo fought Smiths Brother like 200-300k because Smith has no fans and no one gives a Sh.it about him in the States. If he fights 8 more times I’d bet 6-7 of those come no where near 1mil PPVs and do 250-550k . So Canelo is by no means going to be at the Food Bank looking for a hot meal , I do t think he’ll generate anywhere near 280 mil in his next 8 fights. All because he didn’t want to be told that he had to fight GGG. You know the damn near 40 year old past prime fighter delusional Canelo fans claimed that he “ destroyed “ and actually deserved to get the W against. And since then has done everything in his power not to fight him again. Sh.it In all my life I’ve never seen a Fighter who supposedly won a fight behave in such a strange manner

But Canelo still deserves props for picking Smith , Can’t knock the match up at all

Literally one of the first things Canelo is quoted saying is that he does not care about the money. He loves boxing and wants to make the best fights. He is already worth hundreds of millions of dollars. He can invest that and be set for life for him and his kids.

I take it you have not been paying attention to the whole DAZN/GBP contract with Canelo? DAZN was not willing to pay the 35 million per fight to Canelo which is why Canelo sued and is now a free agent. How is he leaving money on the table by missing out on a full year of fighting? That is 2 potential fights he could have had and made money all because his promoter did not want to keep their end of the contract up. DAZN was very selective with who Canelo could fight and be willing to pay him the guaranteed he was told.

Did you not watch how Canelo had to wait for over an hour to fight Kovalev because the UFC had a fight going on? Canelo was tired of having his career being controlled by others and not him. He has already stated he does not care about the money. He is already rich enough to dress like an idiot in public.

If you watch Benevidez closely he has more holes in his game than Swiss cheese. People are so enamored by his power that all else gets completely overlooked. His shots are not sharp and are wide and at times lunges. His footwork is also very slow. An elite boxer such as Canelo who is an elite counter puncher with fast footwork and faster hands takes advantage of this all day. It is because of this that I firmly believe Plant would take advantage of Benevidez as well. He has faster hands and footwork than Canelo. The only thing Plant lacks is the power of Canelo.

Benevidez while good isn’t all he’s wrapped up to be. Very sloppy boxer

Benavidez's biggest asset is his youth and being able to cut down then balloon up 2 divisions to out weight and out size his opponent. I have never seen anything special in him. The way he walks through punches tells me more than enough of his boxing abilities. Eventually he will get in the ring with someone his size and he will no longer be the bully. Or age will catch up to him and he can no longer abuse the system.

This isn't a farewell fight and Caleb Plant wanted more time to prepare anyway. I'm sure he will get to those other guys.

Exactly. More fighters should aspire to become free agents once they reach the top level. Just think of how much better boxing would be if say half of the p4p top 10 were free agents.

Agree with you on this. Even an elite boxer that can hold distance and control the ring. Those punches add up and wear on a fighter; especially body shots
