If you watch Benevidez closely he has more holes in his game than Swiss cheese. People are so enamored by his power that all else gets completely overlooked. His shots are not sharp and are wide and at times lunges. His footwork is also very slow. An elite boxer such as Canelo who is an elite counter puncher with fast footwork and faster hands takes advantage of this all day. It is because of this that I firmly believe Plant would take advantage of Benevidez as well. He has faster hands and footwork than Canelo. The only thing Plant lacks is the power of Canelo.
Benevidez while good isn’t all he’s wrapped up to be. Very sloppy boxer

Plant has terrible ring iq among the worst of all current beltholders imho. (Did you see how lost his ring iq was against a uber driver his last fight?)

He does have fast hands & decent footwork but its just the latest case of a fighter being way overrated because hes fought complete no hopers & still looked awful & took forever to blast them out,but merely because he did it as boringly as possible & as much like Andrade as possible,he is now talked of as some sweat pea type ballerina.

Plant might get blasted out by Benevidez but vs Canelo definitely imho because of everything I just went over.

I genuinely think he doesn't want to get brutalized this early in his career vs Benevidez or especially Canelo Because he doesn't want to be a flash in the pan beltholder that immediately lost his title & became a journeyman like Rosado.

Just my 2 cents we shall see though

It would be cool if he was flipping back n forth between networks fighting whoever was interesting at the time. Hope this happens.

That said I tend to think money-wise its not to networks benefit not to do a long term deal with a name like Canelo unless you are just doing big fight after big fight which seems unattainable, but who knows.

I know I hope he flips over to Showtime for a couple fights after this Callum fight. I wanna see Canelo vs Mall, vs Caleb & vs Benavidez. That could be the next year & a half Cinco De Mayo & Mexican Independence Day shows in a perfect world for me. Or a rematch of one of those 3 opponents if Canelo gets upset or its close.

In the fight he won his title in he took a lot of punishment and got wobbled pretty bad.

He kinda has a tevin farmer vibe going. They both have flashy hand speed and defense but when they go up in comp they dont look so great
