It's not a cherry pick but Smith is not unified. Unified means two or more of the alphabet soup belts (WBA, WBC, IBF, WBO). Smith has the WBA (Super) and The Ring Magazine belts

Callum Smith has known for months that he was a potential Canelo opponent and they were in negotiations previously.

I'm sure that both guys have been training to stay ready and now they have a short window to ramp it up in preparation for December 19th.

I personally think Plant beats Canelo but I also think Canelo fighting Smith is the best fight he could make because I wanna see Plant and Benavidez which I think Benavidez wins
