Smith is the recognized champ at 168. He may not be a great fighter, but that's not Canelo's fault. Super-Middle has been ripe for the plucking for the last decade, not very deep with talent or big money fights.

Plant - was scared and avoided the fight multiple times and never beat anyone
BJS - Never fought an elite fighter
Charlo - Didnt belong and “lost” to Korobov

Sounds about right for the “face” of boxing. Floyd, Pac, and the ones before them all got the same s hit.

Canelo is the current only dude who can fight the ring champ and get s hit for it lmao

There are some people who will criticize every and anything just because. For example, I can think of ridiculous critiques for any potential opponent:

1. Callum Smith, "he just lost to John Ryder"
2. John Ryder, "who is John Ryder?"
3. Caleb Plant, "but Plant can't punch"
4. David Benavidez, "he's not ready for this level"
5. Billy Joe Saunders, "he's not entertaining"
6. Demetrius Andrade, "he's boring"
7. Artur Beterbiev, "he's not a draw"
8. Jermall Charlo, "he hasn't beaten anybody"

I could go on but you get the point.

well everyone had him losing his last fight so its pretty silly that we all just ignore that now and canelo just fought at 175 but his actions here show that the kovalev fight was just a cherry pick and now hes division hopping for another cherry against callum who just lost. these guys arent bad fighters but they arent killers like beterbiev either. this is the problem with division hoppers. they can always avoid the pressure of having to fight a dangerous foe. "i'm not really a 175 pounder!" we heard the same when canelo was ducking ggg "im not really a 160 pounder! im a 155 pounder?" we can see the pattern now. as trump says it is what it is
