Whilst Canelo has been preparing for a couple months for this. Is there even drug testing in this? ?

Fanboys aren't trying to read this.

But it's a very good, bigger man against an absolutely elite boxer. That's enough of a challenge.

I'll be cheering on my fellow scouser.

If you could pick when the surprises and shocks would happen then they wouldn't be surprises or shocks.

Just maybe we get a surprise. And that's enough for me to tune in.
Yeah i'll be watching, i like Callum, i hope he can perform and has enough time to get in shape.

Canelo could've picked a much worse opponent, so respect to him.

Canelo is definitely the favourite but Smith is not out of his depth in this matchup.

Let’s not forget a clearly past prime but still capable Kovalev won a considerable amount of rounds against Canelo, Smith has just the same if not greater physical advantages and has a lot more left in the tank than that version of Kovalev.

I can’t believe people are hating on this fight, under current circumstances, this is a great matchup. I guarantee it’ll be competitive too.
It is a very good fight for Canelo and Smith. No matter who Canelo was fighting many would say he should be fighting some other fighter. Canelo wants to a real 168 pound champion not the jr champion he won by beating Fielding. Smith is a legit world champion so that is who he is fighting to try and get a real world title at 168. If Ryder had officially beat Smith and was the champion I think Canelo would be fighting Ryder. Canelo didn't score the Smith vs Ryder fight. He just wants to fight the man who is officially the world champion so he can become the champion if he wins. If he fights and beats Ryder he wins no world title. Smith probably had an off night against Ryder and he still has a very good record and is still a dangerous opponent for anyone at 168. Smith is rated number 1 at 168 by boxrec, Ring magazine, ESPN and probably all major sites that rate boxers.

Brah, do you think Canelo took this fight right before the end of the year because as he stated, "he wanted to get in 1 fight this year before it was over" because he thinks he is going to lose? This is a tune up fight as far as Canelo's concerned.

Smith just lost to John ****ing Ryder for christs sake. I think you can read into that because Smith has never fought anyone outside of a clearly injured George Groves.

This is another concern. Hopefully he and Joe have been working behind the scenes.

It's an interesting fight, not hating on it because I don't rate any of the 168 guys super highly so there's no alternative I'm calling for. But I just think the skill, boxing IQ gap is too high. He does have some of Kov's advantages but his jab isn't as good. Has he ever been down? Maybe he has an iron chin, he forces the pace early and turns it into a war with a tired Canelo late? I dunno, just struggling to see a path to victory for him but it could be an exciting fight

The one thing I do hate about this fight is Joe Gallagher will run his mouth before it happens and then run his mouth with excuses after Smith loses

Callum Smith's name came up as a potential opponent a long time ago so I would think he's been in the gym just in case. Of course there is a difference between general fitness and training camp but both guys will be coming off extended layoffs due to Covid and if the timing was an issue then Smith could have declined like Caleb Plant did. I assume that he expects to be ready if he signed the contract.

Callum Smith has been mentioned as a possible Canelo opponent for awhile now and I assume he will be ready since he signed the contract. If the date was an issue then he could have declined like Caleb Plant did for May 2nd.

I agree and it actually reminds me of when Josesito Lopez upset Victor Ortiz when Ortiz was in line to face Canelo. Lopez ended up getting the Canelo fight instead and Canelo destroyed him. Then people complained that Canelo was cherry-picking. I think people would say the same if Canelo were to fight and defeat John Ryder and Callum Smith is still a threat like you said.
