This is a strange time to be a boxing fan for someone like myself that has watched the sport since the 70s.....when being a popular boxer means having so many followers on Instagram, or how often they are on world star etc etc. Give me a grand talent over a fancy pants any day.

Here is what Arum said “the promoter” about Crawford which is more reason that Bud needs to get away from Top Rank. Top Rank & ESPN did almost nothing to promote this fight with Brook, despite that, Bud still drew good numbers without a strong dance partner.
Arum to Athletic Box, “he’s got to promote like Lopez does, Shakur does, like Mayweather did, Pacquiao did. If he doesn’t, then who the f...needs him? He may be the greatest fighter in the world, but hey, I ain’t going bankrupt promoting him.”Comment

That’s real G, Arum has been trying to create a new racial template for boxing. Unfortunately it’s not working. Just creating a bunch of confused people who buy into the lies but keep getting let all the way down my the false reality. Some people just don’t know how to let things be. But the more they lose the more they dig in. It’s a multiplier effect that leads to failure. See HBO Boxing, Goldenboy and DAZN.Comment

Just anecdotal but a few people I talked to were turned off by the headbutt nonsense in the fight before.
Heard that it seems boxing hasn’t changed and you still get the wrong calls.
2 million viewers on ESPN isn’t a great number. Not PPV and people are by and large staying home.
Guy is not a draw and at this point in his career he’s the B side to the big fights he wants.Comment

C'mon, you same one would call him ****** and loud mouth if he becomes outspoken. It is what it is. Not everyone is going to be Ali or Floyd.Comment
