Now, we have to look at performance overall, not just outcome.

Shawn Porter took the true #1 guy at Welterweight to his limit and almost beat him. He came out of that fight looking like a superstar as a result.

Crawford got hurt more than he ever has. He came out of that fight looking vulnerable.

My next post will give you more history to chew on.
Ok since we are looking at the performance overall, let's also talk about how Crawford was up 79-72 on two scorecards and 78-73 on the other. Let's talk about how Crawford dominated the rest of the fight after Mean Machine had some unexpected moments of success.

I've seen that video posted numerous times though so I will play along. Let's say Crawford got dropped. Ok that's a 10-8 round and after that Bud dominated and scored the stoppage. Everybody gets caught at some point but of course it gets overblown if it happens to a fighter you don't like.

Let's not bring up how Floyd got dropped against Judah and they let that shіt slide.

Bud gets dropped by Mean Machine and they let it slide and folks are about to lose their shіt..

Exactly, and it's funny because critics will harp on that and ignore how Floyd took over down the stretch and made Zab resort to cheating to avoid getting stopped.

Now if it had been a close, controversial decision then I would understand but it becomes a moot point if the winner dominates after that.

            Correct.

            Floyd impressed me that night.

He fought like a defensive pressure fighter that night in the full guard, doubling up on the right hand and catching Judah every time...

Judah was more frustrated than hurt in that fight, but the punches add up. He would've been stopped on an accumulation of punishment.

What do people most remember about Mayweather/Mosley?

It isn't Mayweather walking Shane down for 11 rounds. It's him getting bombed on and almost dropped early in the fight.

              Why?

Because it's rare to see that happen.

Same is the case with Crawford. And since that's what people will most remember about Kavaliauskas (Crawford getting wobbled and dropped), that's what his next opponent is measured against.

Unfortunately, because Crawford's next opponent is always a shell of themselves rather than someone primed and ready to go at peak, we'll never know for sure if it was a fluke.

I'll say this. The punch that Kavaliauskas landed didn't even full connect and it managed to do that. If that were Danny Swift's No Look Hook™ , who knows how Crawford reacts. If he does at all.

Fair points, and hopefully we will get to see Bud against an elite opponent before it's too late. I would even settle for someone like Yordenis Ugas to be honest.

I actually don't think that Kavaliauskas' punch was a fluke because Mean Machine isn't a bum like many people claim.

No benefit in fighting Porter for Crawford. He's just a glorified brawler.PBC are just clockblocking putting Spence out there after his car accident.Garcia is a safe fight for Spence. They want Craw to join them a la Pacquaio if he wants a big fight.Didn't work out much for Pac with the move, did it? Broner?

This is after he declined Thurman and Porter.

Porter recently said he wants Crawford, NOT Spence, next if offered.

Yo the white dude kept it a buck LOL!
Bud should take the fight if he can't get another title shot.

Ugas was FRESH OFF what was arguably a close, but clear win over Shawn Porter and a performance that nobody saw coming.

Second, Ugas beat Crawford in the amateurs. You tell that story and use it to build the fight - it's a quest for revenge. Same with Swift.

But decisively smashing Ugas would have put the entire PBC on notice had Crawford taken that fight.
Hey, I'm all for Bud but you've done some good work here.
