Again, Canelo is fighting a DAZN fighter on DAZN after getting out of his contract with DAZN.

The only issue he had with the contract was that DAZN wanted him to fight in big fights.

Canelo wants to get paid to go on cruise control.

I can’t wait for the Canelo fans to spin this one.

Canelo didn't have a contract with dazn bro

he wanted to get out of that contract so he could fight weak opposition. eventually DAZN were going to make him fight a world class, prime fighter and canelo didnt like the sound of that so he left

DAZN grossly overstated Canelos value, as they must have used a bias boxing forum as their yard stick.

Of course they were not going to continue losing such huge money and naturally demanded that he fight big name fighters.

So that left them in a stalemate, which didn't suit Canelo either.

It was a huge win for DAZN, also a win for Canelo (as he may be able to fight now and still earn $10m or so per fight against tomato cans).

GBP were the ones who lost.

He wanted out of the Golden Boy contract, he wasnt in Contract with DAZN. He's free to fight anyone from any network

DAZN is the only one ****** enough to pay him a 30 million guarantee.

I wonder if big fighters like Canelo are more expensive to have on a long term contract with huge minimums, especially in the covid-climate, as opposed to specific % on a fight-by-fight basis.

At least by DAZN paying for just this one fight, they can work a deal that they know they'll make money on. Rather than a projected % on a future, potentially ****ty opponent with no gate and a huge minimum to foot.

They both cut out the middle man. He quickly realise that DAZN weren’t the problem.
