Canelo leaves DAZN contract to fight a DAZN fighter on DAZN

Canelo is going to fight Callum Smith and the fight will be carried by DAZN.

Again, Canelo is fighting a DAZN fighter on DAZN after getting out of his contract with DAZN.

The only issue he had with the contract was that DAZN wanted him to fight in big fights.

Canelo wants to get paid to go on cruise control.

I can’t wait for the Canelo fans to spin this one.

The lawsuit was settled, Canelo's working with DAZN without GBP as the middleman. What's the problem?

Callum took Ryder for granted, he’s a better fighter than that one poor performance.

I can understand that perspective given the optics, however the difference is that Canelo is no longer tied to DAZN or anyone else. As for the big fights, let's see who Canelo chooses going forward, or after he fights Callum Smith.

Smith still has a belt (controversial decision against John Ryder aside) so I don't have a problem with the fight.

It is very confusing! I'm thinking maybe he should've just took the Restructured $20 Million Per they offered

Also too it was DAZN who did not see Callum, BJS and other fighters as Premier so no clue WTF DAZN plan is going forward BUT DAZN got out of having to pay him $35-40 Million Per Fight at least

I think you misunderstood. Canelo sued to get out of his contract with Golden Boy, to get the freedom to negotiate fights for himself on any network he wants. It would be pretty pointless to do that and then exclude DAZN.

It's good because it shows that he's not opposed to fighting on DAZN, he just wants to be a free agent so he can fight anywhere. He can fight Hearn's guys on DAZN, then fight Haymon's fighters on FOX PPV, then he can fight a Top Rank fighter on ESPN PPV, then jump around while he gets all the networks and promoters to talk about him.
