Elite welterweights were always able to step up an challenge bigger guys. Sometimes they succeed, sometimes not. Napoles was able to challenge Monzon. He lost, but he is still one of top 10 welterweights ever.

Somehow I agree with Spence, he doesn`t need Crawford. But he does need to step up an challenge champions at 154 or 160. Because Spence is a big welterweight and he shouldn`t stay at 147.

If Spence wants at least the same legacy like Tito Trinidad has, he must do that.

Crawford already stepped up in division twice. Crawford needs top welterweight name ( Pacquiao, Spence, Danny, Porter) to gain something.

Spence wants to be undisputed so he aint going anywhere.

Besides his stablemate Charlo has all the PBC belts at 154 so he aint got no one to fight there.

Crawford is like the Tommy Hearns to Sugar Ray Leonard, or The Pacquaio to Mayweather for Spence.

If Spence or Crawford don't make that fight it will tarnish their legacy forever.

They need to fight each other.

    It can't not happen.

Spence should fight Jermell Charlo, he is big enough for that.

Spence started his career at 154, had several fights there and moved down so he could weightbully 147. Same for Keith Thurman. Its all on Boxrec.

I think a smart boxer fights at the weight class that suits his natural size. The weight class he performs the best at and is the most effective. He doesn't dare to be great and fight in a weight class he does not belong in because everyone in that weight class is bigger, stronger and hits harder than him. Winning fights against good boxers their own size make boxers great. Fighting above their best weight and getting beat up or knocked out does not make them greater. Napoles was already considered great. Getting KOed by Monzon did not make him greater. Loma moved up and lost to a good big lightweight and might be undefeated had he stayed at 126 or 130. Rigo was so easily beaten by Loma. Micky was so easily beaten by Spence. Other great champions of today also got themselves knocked out by moving up too many weight classes above their best fighting weight. Crawford had to move up because he outgrew 135. If a boxer has trouble making weight then he should move up to a weight class he can comfortably make weight.

He wants to become undisputed.... And we have no idea how that wreck effected him

This makes no sense at the moment.

I can't see Spence not moving up at some point. I think he'll do well at 154, not too sure about 160.

There's still some names at WW to fight. If he can't get the Pac and Crawford fights to unify. I still wouldn't mind seeing him against Thurman as well.

We'll see how he does against Danny G first though.

lol? he just flew out of a lambo at like 200 mph ffs

there is a very real possibility that Spence may never be the same & may not be able to even take a punch anymore.

Hence why his team went for a semi big fight on his return, because tuneups could end up with a journeyman breaking Spences face

I really want Spence to fight at 147. There are so many big matchups there. Crawford obviously. Pacquaio , Thurman, Garica(scheduled to fight him now). , Ennis, Ugas, Ortiz, Porter again. Those are alot of really good fights, plus the 140 pound guys, like Ramirez, Josh Taylor, and Prograis. He could make so much impact there.

I would rather see Spence fight Crawford instead of moving up right now.
