Will someone please enlighten me on the significance of MTK Global. The only four guys a boxer needs to connect with are Al, Bob, OLH and Eddie (for now). What networks do they partner with to showcase their fighters? What venues to they have relationships with to display their talent. Why does Manny need Al and MTK. Why does Victor Ortiz need Oscar and MTK? I am sincerely confused can someone help me please.

I know people tend to **** on Schaeffer but when he was at golden boy he was signing fighters left and right and making some pretty damn good fights.

I know oscar felt like he was getting stepped on so he got rid of him and mosely but can we agree that richard was doing a much better job with gbp at that point in time

Bro... I agree. I also thought Richard Schaefer was the brains of Goldenboy.

He knew how to attract talent, match make and he knew how to partner.

When Oscar took over he tried to emulate Arum’s style and he didn’t have the stable to pull it off.

Oscar can be upset about what happened but he also has to acknowledge how he was living at the time.

He was battling drugs and he wasn’t even showing up to help promote the fighter events. I agree Richard got a bad shake because he was tired of putting up with Oscars BS. I almost forgot Mosley was a partner. Great memory!!!

They “manage” the boxers directly, they are the ones that represents the boxers when it comes to getting deal sorted out.

But they are backed by dodgy association (Crime boss), they take minimum cuts because they only using boxing as a front for their other businesses.

Boxers gets to keep most of their monies when they are managed by them, and you cannot really mess with these boxers outside of the ring as well. As they have “Their backs”

And it’s Vergil Ortiz that you are referring to not Victor.

MTK seem shadowy so I'm not certain either. But they seem well connected, especially with Arum. So this could be a sign Ortiz is headed to TR. But Manny signing with MTK? Not sure why that happened

Lol... very true. That was before the other side of the street was a thing and PPV had not been ruined by streaming. Fights could happen because they made money. It was a golden age indeed.
