Fans love knockouts, especially in the HW division. If it were so easy to KO Mike's opponents why wasn't everyone doing it? He made it look easy because of his skill and power. Hardly overrated.

        Both overrated and underrated.

Early 20's Tyson is a handful for everyone at heavyweight. He is not unbeatable (key word) but he is a live threat just based off of his massive speed advantage coupled with power.

Tyson is on too many top 10 ATG lists when he not a top 5 heavyweight
He is the exception to the rule, I’d have him in my top 5 without hesitation.

He still gets credit for being the youngest HW to win a title and should get credit for beating Spinks and unifying the belts.
Mike Tyson - Spinks is one of the most pathetic fights I have ever seen. Something like Ortiz -Flores, lol.

At that time he was the most technical fighter out there. Spinks looked like he was scared to death and got ran over. Nobody expected that.

Yes. I'd say he's around the same level as Dillian Whyte. That would be a good, fun, B level fight.

He is when casuals spout off that he's "tHe gREAtesT boXER EvER!" However, I think most well researched boxing fans know that it's a hell of a task to try to squeeze Tyson into a top 10 best Heavy Weights list.

He's up there with Wilder as the most overrated of all time in the division. When a boxer starts "declining" at age 23 when there are no bums to spark out - you should know he's a hype job. Mike Tyson was a media creation by the networks who were looking for the next big thing after Ali retired. It's obvious his style won't work against any big puncher that can punch back and that's the same problem Loma is facing now and why Garcia will never beat anyone with a pulse. All the fancy crap is only effective against bums and average boxers. At the elite level - you'll get tested and found out.

The BS about Cus D'Amato is absolute nonsense. Boxers change trainers all the time. So how come Mike Tyson is the only boxer in history that became a bum because he wasn't with a particular trainer? Cus wasn't even there in the 80s when he was knocking out creampuffs but whimsically, the absence of Cus became a problem in the 90s when the division got stronger. Hilarious! LMAO
