Comments Thread For: "Strength Of Schedule" Is The Only Knock Against Terence Crawford

By Corey Erdman - Terence Crawford is one of two men who is called the pound for pound best fighter on the planet by anybody these days. The consensus top dog amongst outlets and observers is Canelo Alvarez, but ESPN, which broadcasts Crawford's fights, promotes him as the No. 1 fighter in the world. ESPN isn't the only one who thinks that-although it seems on...

We can talk all we want, but as long as these fights against the other top guys aren't being made, then all the talk doesn't matter. Whoever is fighting and beating all the competition in their weight class is the best fighter, the eye test and stuff that happened 5 years ago don't mean anything. Very unfortunate the time Crawford has lost being with top rank.

It’s the worst knock you can have? Wtf lol.

It’s literally how you prove you’re the best fighter. If you’re not even considered the best fighter in your own division nor have the desire to prove it against ANY of the top dogs in your class...I’ve got news for you

And that is what is wrong with boxing.

No one forces the promoters to have the best fight the best. Even though the tv networks and the sanctioning bodies have the power to do so.

Want to see Canelo vs Charlo? Or Lomachenko vs Haney? Then the WBC should call for the mandos but NOT allow bullshit Franchise Champion loopholes that let the A-sides wiggle out.

Want to see Spence vs Crawford? Then FOX or ESPN should make deals with the promoters that reward unifications and punish showcase fight blowouts.

            Maybe?

It’s a huge mark down. Honestly I think Crawford probably is as good as he says, but if he won’t fight his best contemporaries, his claim cannot be considered legitimate. Punching a hole in Kell Brook’s ghost doesn’t help him either.

If Brook can roll back the years and come in close to the form he was showing pre GGG, Crawford is in for one a hell of a fight.

Yep, if the promoters take any bit of a chance , then there's a rematch clause in there , when really a fighter has won and isn't allowed to go about his business unless he wins again? Eddie Hearn just wants there to be one promoter (him) .....can you imagine ! come back Don King all is forgiven.

"Since the Postol fight, Crawford has faced the following opponents: John Molina Jr., Felix Diaz, Julius Indongo, Jeff Horn, Jose Benavidez Jr., Amir Khan, Egidijus Kavaliauskas. The latter four have represented his ongoing title run in the welterweight division."

That part! That is why Canelo should be seen as P4P #1 Boxer in the world!
