Ortiz will never fight those guys . Pulev will lose to AJ then be another non important fight that everyone will claim ( if AJ wins so does everyone, the forum logic ) and Povetkin will fight Fury or AJ in the future unless he loses to Whyte in that case Ortiz will probably be in some final elimination bout or get another gifted title shot ? Ha

Povetkin bs Pulev is more probable then an Ortiz fight ,the day he actually fights a live opponent to get. Tile shot I will be shocked .

Ortiz was gifted rather than earnt some fake reputation and rather than have him fight and lose to the bigger names and be seen for what he is the PBC would rather keep him fighting nobodies, do FKK all with his career but keep that BS boogeyman label that came out of nowhere so it makes Wilders wins over him seem more special. That's why he turned down fights v Joshua and Whyte and why the best win on his record is also somebody who has achieved nothing.

Ortiz is fighting bums.... Pov actually called Ortiz out, and crickets....https://www.boxingscene.com/povetkin...-whyte--137321

Pov's resume completely *****s on Ortiz resume.

there is literally a gulf of class between the two 40 year olds.

povetkin has no heart and he struggled with bum whyte.

I have to agree with you. About the only time Ortiz fought anybody very good was his two title shots at Wilder.

He’s almost retired, do you really need tune ups when your at the point in your career, why waste time?

It’s another reason the UFC is killing it....

I honestly feel he turned down Joshua as he couldn’t pass the drug test at short notice.

There is a golf in opposition, not class.

Ortiz would most likely beat Povetkin head to head if they fought now, but Povetkin's career is LEAGUES better than Ortiz's.

Povetkin looked shot but was fortunate to land a lucky punch.
I’m surprised you consider capitalising on a clear flaw of Whytes and slipping a punch perfectly and timing a beautiful KO uppercut as lucky.

                  That surprises me.

Well it shouldn't be that much of a surprise, he won Gold and has fought top level competition his whole career.
Ortiz was made by Haymon (new Don King), remember Peter McNeely was 36-1 and was ranked by the WBC (#6 if I remember right).
Careful match making can make anyone look good.
Ortiz would have lost a few more times if he actually fought legit opponents.
Povetkin is at least 1 level better, maybe 2.

And that! That Russian set his @ss up!!!!

"The Russians love to play chess, right? They’ve excelled at that game for generations, and Povetkin is like a grandmaster in boxing. He started tapping Whyte with a short left to the body in Round 1, and he continued this tactic every time they were in close. (I thought the left to the body would be one of Whyte’s keys to victory, but what do I know.) At the start of Round 5, he camouflaged a left to the body (at least that’s what I THINK he was doing) that he turned into a Burevestnik missile of a left uppercut. Povetkin, one step ahead of Whyte even when he fell behind on the scorecards due to the two knockdowns in Round 4, set it up brilliantly. Whyte had begun to anticipate the left to the body, but he was wide open for a left uppercut."
