Was Devin Haney more impressive than the fat version of Tank?

The plan was for Haney to beat Gamboa more impressively than Gervonta Davis did.

    Did he accomplish that?

Nope, Tank is leagues above Haney and would slaughter him.

Definitely didn’t accomplish it. Haven’t seen the fight but if we are going to call Davis fat as an excuse, then can we acknowledged that Gamboa had both his legs in this fight? I mean maybe if Gamboa had one leg then Haney too would have stopped him?

You sure have an opinion for someone who didn’t see the fight

Post number 2 is the right answer. That counts for the whole division.

Haney put on a lackluster performance, and underwhelmed everyone in the boxing world and what makes that even more into perspective is that this was against a shell of himself version gamboa who is in a weight class he shouldnt be in and comming off an Achilles hell injury (basically one footed). Remeber Crawford even got shit for struggling vs 1 leg Benavidez and Crawford eventually got the tko.

You haven't missed much. For me, I saw Haney's whole potential. Not that good. I think he should fight Loma if he can get that fight next.

There’s far more to boxing than a knockout or a knock down.
Tank Davis struggled in large parts of the Gamboa fight and his power made up for it. And he got rinsed for his performance of an injured Gamboa and rightfully so.

Now if you watched the fight, you can see Haney was in complete control, and Gamboa wasn’t injured, but his power was pathetic in comparison.

You have a very basic concept of boxing if it’s based on being hurt or knocked down or knocked out as far as impressive performance.

Styles make fights. And lack of power was made up with ring generalship that shouldn’t be overlooked.

Arum isn’t going to do that fight, nor would GBP with Garcia. Haney is going to find it difficult to get opponents of the high name calibre.
