Was Devin Haney more impressive than the fat version of Tank?

Both were u impressive. Tank had the better power but idk Gamboa just made them both look average.

Eh, it's close, but I'd argue that Haney was impressive. Against Tank, Gamboa was literally 1 footed and barely moved, since that's when he injured it. Against Haney, while Gamboa was not as careless as we are used to seeing him, he did move well until the later rounds, when the bodywork took its toll.

What Tank did is inexcusable - the guy was hobbling around for 12 rounds and even returning fire before Tank luckily KOd him.
Haney is understandable - he's not carrying the power yet in his frame. Just looking at him you can see he still has a LOT of physical maturation to go through. In 2-3 years once he's filled out, we should see a very different fighter.

Haney will fill out more but he looks like he's never going to be a big puncher.

Remember that big looping overhand he caught that Moran kid with and iced him? After his shoulder surgery I don't think he's ever going to throw that shot again.

From personal experience having disclocated my right shoulder many times until I got it surgically repaired. It's really easy to blow it out again with a motion like that. Granted I'm not a young elite athlete with access to vitamins, but I went through all that in my early 20s.

Devin is throwing flea bites. Made Gamboa look like Marvin Hagler.

No.... If anything the direct comparison might have set him back publicly. Now people will say Tank would KO Haney.

I don't understand why they chose similar opponents when Haney doesn't have the style to look better vs Gamboa.

Too bad he won’t prove it. Stand by for another smaller fighter. Tank is better off at 130.

Yup. I can't help but wonder if that shoulder had never been an issue, would he still be going for those bigger shots.
I don't think Loma looked quite the same his first fight back after surgery, and arguably still...
