Hard to look impressive against a 38 year old fighter coming off a injury and knock out loss? Haney was supposed to get gamboa out of there period after all the trash he talked about tank fighting gamboa.

      Everyone else does so... IDK.

And Gamboa fought as best he could with one damn foot lol its on the A-side to make the fight into what he wants. Gamboa didnt give Haney the exact look he wanted so haney couldnt do nothing with it.

IDK why he chose similar opponents as Tank to try and look better than, when he doesn't have the type of style to produce fireworks.

Now this fight might have done more harm than good outside of the gained experience

Well he showed he's a long way better than Gamboa. But we already knew that. A comfortable shutout is about as convincing as it gets.

Doesn't tell us anything about how he would fare in the bigger fights.

This just shows he doesn't have the biggest punch. He won every round. If he did this against a Lomachenko or Lopez it would be considered a stellar performance. The fight itself was boring as **** though. It's time to step up to real competition.

Skilled Boxer but still need some work

Need to work on his inside game, he doesn't have one at all actually but he needs more physicality on the inside and a Inside Game

Sure he has the skills to probably out-box all of the fighters at 135 but can he keep a Tank or Teofimo Lopez off of him and also Tank is a nasty body punch and his Frame is not built for body punches, in fact I see that punches to the body does make him reset and back out similar to what Loma was doing vs Teofimo. Only 21 years old though, soon to be 22 years old next week so he has plenty of time and also styles make fights so while he did not look good vs Gamboa, he could come out and look spectacular vs a better opponent

Remember those who jumped off Teofimo bandwagon after that fight before the Commey fight in which he did not look good only for him take it to another level vs Commey and Loma so lets not rush to give up on these young fighters but also too lets not overhype them too soon

He is a great fighter. Once he fights some good, in prime front foot fighters he'll look good. The match making is horrible. Gamboa is beyond shot, no reach, no power anymore, no achilles. They gotta match this guy with better, or at least more confident guys. The public perception will be that he is a stinker, and only for the aficionados if he keeps doing this ****. Thats the problem of being self promoted.... Arum would make this guy into the next Floyd, but he wants to call the shots and I think its a mistake at his age. Be self promoted after you have the fame.
