He's shot and chinny. He's the same level (or just below) Jason Sosa. When Berchelt faced Sosa he at least got the job done impressively. Some of the responses here show Haney could've shadowboxed in an empty ring and still gotten praise "wow he didn't get hit at all, P4P baby"

He young doe. Could still improve. But right now he's clearly not at the level people are claiming and hyping up Gamboa to suggest otherwise is a bit sad
Go one page back and see my favourite take away from the fight.

I Never Lied: “Haney is literally Mayweather”

Good win, however I still see some deficits in Devin's game. He's way to defensively oriented that he wastes a lot of opportunities to land big punches especially on the inside. He can't really create opportunities for himself to land combos, steal rounds or break down his opponents. He's still one dimensional in a way that he's a potshot fighter only. Great fighters are normally more multi-faceted. In razor thin fights he's going to get outworked. He always waits for openings. Also the lack of KO-power was evident in there and has been for a number of fights.

It was a lose lose situation for him. They need to step up in the next fight and keep that social media stuff going to build him up so that the fights with the other top guys could be made. I wouldn't expect Devin to come out as the top dog in that division if everyone fought everyone though.

Good win if you’re just some guy who isn’t talked about very often. Would have been a top notch victory for a 16-0 who tf is this type. For Haney though, this was a step backwards. He showed a complete lack of power and killer instinct. Answered nothing and raised a lot of questions.

147 was Floyd's last stop, this kid is 22 and just starting out and showing no pop. Floyd was dropping dudes at the lower weights all the time

Gamboa been washed up for 5 years easy at this point. studs are supposed to dispatch these type of over the hill fighters with ease. He has a long way to go to be elite

I haven't seen the fight yet but it doesn't sound like Haney made the statement he said he needed/was going to?
