What you should have done was keep your hands up like you did for the first 6 rounds. You dropped your hands early in the 7th getting overconfident & he laid you out. Sure you got up but you were finished.

I said the same thing at the time. He wasn't out, he wasn't even led down, he was on one knee and it was early in the count. Bayless was quick to end that.

Though to be fair I expect Wilder may of finished the job soon after, or may of even been too unsteady on his feet to continue once he'd got up. But he didn't even get the chance.

Why he is bringing that up now though I've got no idea.

The round was over he woulda had a minute to collect himself but I suspect Wilder woulda pounced on him as soon as the next bell rang. Who knows what woulda happened
