Made a lot of money, got a few concussions. At 190 he would have got less of each.
Should j. Ruiz have stayed at cruiserweight?

- -U came along with a flea weight Question. He had a great right hand, whenever he wanted to throw it, had great stamina, tough as nails, went nip and tuck with bad intent heavyweights, took on all comers, effectively swarmed all his opponents with a form of mauling.
He knocked out some guy on YouTube, this fight, somebody posted "John Ruiz is not being a poosie in this fight" can't remember which one it was. That shows he had power.
Also if he stayed at 190, he wouldn't have had the opportunity of Tua playing ping pong with his head.
And also I noticed some of his earlier fights were at cruiser. Why didn't he stay down there? He had every possible benefit and chance to have at that weight class. Strong, power, speed, height, punch, clinching smaller guys. Wth happened?Comment

x2 Yes, exactly
He was a two time HW champion.
People can say what they like, but, a title holder at HW makes more money then a cruiser. A lot more.
Dude is a bit like a Sharkey. People under rate them because they have plenty of losses against not so great competition but that discounts who good they were when they were doing well.
People only like records with streaks. Most guys who have a good night get their good night taken from them because of their bad nights and no one respects how good they were that night.
Douglas, for example, boxed really well the night he KO'd Tyson.Comment

John Ruiz made a very respective career despite a big KO loss to Tua early in his career. Actually he had better career than Tua, lol.Comment
