Why does WILDER promote that “Dented Skull” narrative? He’s just a salesman!

If Wilder really had a dent in his skull he would have been hospitalised immediately after the fight and there is no way on earth he would have been talking about an immediate rematch.

If an actual "dent" in his skull happened, it would be his boxing career over.

If it happened during a fight, like he's claiming, his career would definitely be over.

On that point, I'm actually super surprised that Spence is back and cleared to fight. That crash was horrific – but I guess getting bludgeoned for 12 rounds against a puncher could be comparable, or even worse than being in a car crash?!

I'm also surprised that Spence is back fighting so soon after his accident, and especially surprised by him going straight back into a title fight without any tune ups.

But he must have been cleared to resume his career by the medical team who supervised his treatment while he was recovering, and also by the commission he's licensed with. I guess he just got very, very lucky.

Al Haymon is on a tight rope because the GBP generation of fighters that had crossed over are at the tail end of their careers, so Haymon Boxing needs every inch to promote his PBC brand while it lasts, and the reason why we got Spence vs Garcia is because of COVID-19 which was said to finish by end of 2021. That means PBC dates would be hard to sell in the American market and it puts Haymon in pressure with his fighters whom need to stay busy and make their usual pay while other fighters are on different networks...

It’s possible that Spence is leaning like the Santa Cruz fate. I have Spence losing against DSG. I think most people see this. Such a car crash could give serious prolonging healing which isn’t ideal for a boxer. So Haymon told Spence to just take the fight while making it PPV. That’s good for Spence because should he lose by stoppage I think his character will have faded and we won’t see the Crawford fight.
