If Davis decides not to stay at 135, the #1 135 pound king title goes to Lopez. A ruler is determined by reign, not just a collection of titles. When you have beaten the top 3-4 contenders, you are the king of the division.
I understand what you try to tell me. But the reality is Davis has only fought a old and washed Gamboa at 135lb for a regular WBA belt, he never fought a top fighter at this weigh. He's was not ranked at Lightweight by Ring Magazine before he beat Santa Cruz. Leo was never fight at 135 before because their fight was at 130, so he was no value in Lightweight...

Lopez's number 1 spot in this division, is not debatable. But Davis is still a big name in boxing and i'd would love to see Lopez vs him if Teo stay in this weigh.

The way I see it is I dont look at fighters as #1 until they have established a succession of fights with the best fighting the best, not just after a win or a big win. Reign is everything to establish who is the best, not just a rating that can go out with a fighters next fight in the event they lose...it takes a pattern to say this fighter or that fighter is truly #1 at the top of their division. Rankings are too transient and here today gone tomorrow except when a fighter rules and is truly #1 after several fights.

      • Son, you are N.1. of nothing. N1. of 135 is Lopez, N1. of 130 is Berchelt.

You fought 126 guy at 130. Lets get real.

Davis must fight somebody of his size to prove how good he is.

        • yes indeed he is and Teo needs to step up to the Tank plate. lopez better not use Jose Ramirez and Josh Taylor to duck.

          • Not yet.
He did what he was supposed to do. Knock out a smaller man that couldn’t hurt him.
I still remember how pedestrian he looked against a washed Gamboa.

            • Finally got a good win. Like the Jermell (or is it Jermall?) with Derevyanchenko, or Wilder with Ortiz. Guy’s you gotta reign for a bit at this lvl. It’s not 40 fights of bums, and one legit win, to prove you’re the best. Keep going.

Undefeated Pedrazza wasn't a good win?

Leo has been at 130 for a while. Tank got down to 130. What exactly is the weight class issue? Why are we talking about weight classes leo fought in 3 years ago?

No. Not compared to a top lvl guy. Pedraza definitely isn’t that.

LMFAO. So you admit Leo was at 130. Thanks just wanted to make sure.

Tank went down to fight him at 130. If you think Leo belongs at 126, that is your opinion.

Leo lost because he threw the same shot multiple times, got timed and got caught. It wasn't the weight.
