Canelo is way ahead of crawford on boxing skills and iQ,I know Chavez would not concede or agree about canelo elite defense..I’m not a canelo fan but it’s like art when you see him boxing and doing the waist and head movements to make fighters miss..great defense skill set

I think the aspect that Crawford exceeds in though is relative athleticism. Which to me is something that should be considered.

I keep hearing people talk about Crawford's resume. The difference between Crawford and Canelo is that Canelo is a huge draw and brings big money to the table. There is an incentive for other promoters to risk their best fighters against him.

As much as I like Crawford as a fighter, what leverage does he have to force a fight with any Spence, Danny Garcia or any of the other Haymon fighters? They have plenty of options to make the same money fighting in house.

Crawford did it without the use of PEDs which makes it a lot more impressive. Clenelos two best names on his resume GGG and Floyd he lost to. His two best wins outside of them you could say Kovalev and Jacobs. Sorry that doesn’t make you P4P #1.

GGG shouldn't be rated that high, HBO was just trying to force that notion down everyone's throat, it was right about that time showtime signed floyd. Don't get me wrong he's a great fighter.

Canelo has better defense, throws sharper combos and is more accurate than Bud.

I think canelo is more skilled, he has different styles, he can fight backing up or walking you down.

Crawford is a great switch hitter with better reach but canelo is faster and more proven. Yeah it is hard to ignore differences in opposition, so I am cheating a bit there but it is easy to look skillful against nobodies, we have more proof of canelo's skills against varied styles and against very good fighters.

P4p is supposed to be about who would win if everyone was the same size. If that was the case, Crawford would smoke Canelo. He's too dynamic for him offensively.

If everyone was the same size, Gamboa would have smoked Crawford and we would never get to see Canelo-Crawford because Canelo would busy winning and Crawford would be busy getting dropped and KO’ed by the Gamboa’s and Kavaliouskas’ of the world.

Also, it’s easy to look great versus average opposition. Literally every good fighter would look great vs the opponents Crawford has faced. Canelo would look amazing, go undefeated vs Crawford’s resume. Can Crawford go undefeated vs Canelo’s resume?

Lol... See how they switch up the rules of the game in 4th quarter. So when Loma was “supposedly” P4P number one nobody compared resumes. It was the traditional P4P discussion, if both fighters were the same size who would win the theoretical match up. Who better dominated the classes as they moved up. Now with Terence who unified 140 and who should have been the clear P4P the whole time we are now switching to resume.

So why wasn’t Canelo number one the whole time? We can make the same claim about Loma’s resume when compared to Canelo’s right? Loma had a loss before Teo. Matter fact, based on Resume, let’s put Keith Thurman in the mix? He only loss a close fight to an All-time great in Pacquiao. Why not put Pacquio back in number one?
