Cause he's still a top proven 10 HW and never sustained excessive punishment. Heavyweights can age like fine wine as opposed to the little drained guys. Now more than ever there's probably still one more big money fight for him to ride off into the sunset after though probably a loss vs any of the top 3 (Assuming he is victorious in the Whyte rematch). Maybe he could spark Wilder? Doubt it though.. Most (I'll say 60-75% of people) wrote him off prior to the Whyte bout but I was in the minority who had faith.

        He was a champion.

I think he was just around at the wrong time, Wladimir Kiltschko was too good.

          That was a strange question.

Povetkin has just sparked out a top heavyweight, and people are asking 'Why? He is still fighting'.

Povetkin is still underrated. If the belts end up being split, which they may well do by the end of 2021 I’m sure he would have a strong chance to pick up one of the belts. At the moment I think fury and Joshua are too big for him, but outside of those two he has a chance against anyone really.

if Povetkin wins against Whyte again, do you guys want to see him face Fury next?

it's about money. for all those years he was boxing in his home country or germany...and there wasnt much money to go around. it's even shameful that Povetkin vs Pulev didnt happen after all those years. Even povetkin vs ortiz.
It isn't until he's started getting some traction in the uk as a respectable name, since the AJ fight, that he's decided to stick around for more money.

wladmir klitschko cheated worse than anything ive ever seen in boxing, in their fight btw. he should have been dq'd.

Well he was only on PED's for about half his fights I'd say if he was on them every fight he'd have had a better chance.

                      Are you joking.

He looked AWFUL against Whyte up until the KO

If he wasn't fighting a flat footed idiot he'd have been done.

Knockouts call amnesia, EVERYONE was saying Povetkin was shot 30 seconds before that KO and I still agree with that assesement. He just pulled out a "Foreman/Moorer" shot. That won't happen again.

Funny how a guy goes from being shot to being live vs anyone in the division via one punch.
