I wouldn't be shocked. Pretty sure Loma signed a 5 year contract back in 2015. Haven't heard anything about a renewal or resigning.

Plus, why would Top Rank not want the younger, hispanic nationality, and AMERICAN fighter to be a big name?

But this takes away from Teo's win. He did good and deserved the V that night, regardless.

And the 2 out of 3 judges' scoring was laughable. Lopez won but it was 7-5.

Nobody else seems to be talking about the ref. But this is the classic way of fixing a fight: Unless a KO, the ref and 2 judges make it very difficult for one fighter to win.

Of course, Loma is no stranger to corrupt refs and scoring. His previous "loss" to Salido was outrageous given the many deliberate low blows and dubious scoring .

Here Lopez won, but not by much due to Loma's own inaction for half the fight. But he wasn't gonna win w.o. a KO anyway given Lederman and the other one's bias.

      Nothing changes.
The pushing and holding was ridiculous.

Loma can blame himself the same way Lara can be canelo, but once loma got started the grabbing and pushing definitely hurt

      Score cards laughable

Agreed. Did you catch Lopez complaining to ref when Loma was hitting him with free hand after Lopez grabbed one arm several times. That's completely legal for the one whose arm was grabbed.

This was no beat down. Lopez was scared or nonplussed at times when Loma went on offense.

Loma lost more than Lopez beat him down. Loma could win a rematch if honest judges and ref. Prob won't happen.

Thos all too much and laughable. No matter what Lomo LOST FAIR AND SQUARE. Anybody who thinks anything different obviously dont know boxing. He was a defeated man from round 1 with own lack of activity.

Was Loma in on the fix becaue he did nothing for the first 5 rds then did little to nothing rds 6-7.

I mentioned his contract was up before the fight. Like Floyd said you don't leave Top Rank without a loss. But Teo comprehensively beat him.

People want to give Loma the 2nd, watch it again, Loma landed a nice straight left in the middle of the round and then a 3 punch combo in the last 10 seconds, that is all he landed the entire round! The other 2 minutes and 55 seconds was all Lopez walking him down, taking scoring with body shots and generally stalking a hapless Loma. Not a close round, Lopez won it.

8 and 9 were both rounds that could have gone either way. I initially scored the 8th for Lopez and 9th for Loma, on send viewing I'd reverse that. 10 and 11 were clear Loma rounds, but Lopez had his moments in each one too. The 12th was a brutal beat down by Lopez, wow! This adjusted card for me would make my card 117-111 and all rounds exactly the same as the judge that scored it 117-111.
That’s the thing, those still in shock trying to find rounds to give to Loma are forgetting how close and competitive 8 & 9 were...two of the four rounds I scored for Loma could’ve easily gone the other way. It was a clear and comfortable win, both 116-112 and 117-111 cards were fine.

He clearly tried for KO in 2nd half. Almost getting Koed himself in desperate 12th rd.

Wrong strategy and in the word of "President" G Bush, he misunderestimated Lopez.

I don’t think Loma threw the fight just because he was cautious and getting outboxed most of the way.

Well those saying how great Lopez's first 6 rds, seem not to know that Loma took nearly all on his gloves or parried them.

First 6 rds were rather laxative by both.
