Williams will have a tough time with Mitchell. Mitchell the smaller fighter better boxer will make Williams miss all night long. I can easily see an upset. As long as Mitchell comes to win he could win the fight.

And if Williams wins i hope he keeps running his mouth at Margartio so Arum can make the fight between him and Margarito. Another ko for Margarito will look good in his record. I just hope Williams doesn't expect to make the milions that were offered to Mayweather is hes looking for those numbers good luck at the negotiation table.

ill tell you one thing about paul williams

he is example of how little a lot of people watch boxing, and how much time they spend reading the hype.

paul williams is a classic case of a guy who went from being underrated to being grossly overrated all in the course of one fight.

he was a slight favorite to beat walter mattyse, almost a pick em fight between two undefeated prospects, people said williams hadnt fought anyone good and didnt know if he could take a shot... seemingly he answered those questions with an impressive fight.

people are having a natural reaction to this guy, he is a prototypical weterweight, his size and southpaw style make him a matchup problem for almost anyone and therefore an intriguing prospect in a jam packed division. he throws over 100 punches a round, something people just love to point out, but doesent seem to have that one punch to take a guy out. i dont think margarito is having nightmares about this guy but im sure he is thinking to himself "why do i gotta be the one?" cause surely none of the other champions are looking to fight paul williams themselves. paul williams doesent play much defense and i dont think he could beat margarito personally. its a bad match for williams cause his game is to wear the other guy down with constant pounding, and i dont think he can beat margarito at it quite yet.

hes a 4-1 favorite to beat sharmba mitchell now, after being pick em for mattyhse, which shows you a lot of people have jumped on the bandwagon. he should win the fight easily, no matter the odds, and if he doesent it should set off an alarm, i think he should have one more fight before margarito.

          knives says cintron > williams

i say let em fight, that would be a good meaningful matchup

Just reading your post i was thinking, why not have him fight David Estrada? It would be a toss up fight, Estrada throws a lot of punchs and can take a good punch.

Estrada v. Williams, if Williams gets past Mitchell.

yeah williams needs to go into the margarito fight knowing that he has been there and can get it done when he needs to fight and when its time to box. a good test is important for him, he could box for days if the guy stands back and lets him...

You see those things in bold? Those contradict your opening statement.

You can't base the odds solely on his people jumping on is bandwagon after the Matthysse. You also have to factor in that Mitchell has fought only a very few fights above 140 scattered across a 62 fight, 18 year career that started at Lightweight. He is going in against a kid who is a natural middleweight fighting at Welter.
Factor in the size and age difference, plus the quick beating he took at the hands of a rusty Kostya and I'm surprised the odds aren't more tilted.
