He’s not an explosive puncher but he definitely hits very hard when he wants and deceptively hard as a baseline. I think Floyd is a good comparison to him in some aspects.
8/10. It’s not just his skill. There’s a reason people don’t just carelessly run up on him. He’s quite simply a fluid giant human being who can put some snap in his punches. The weight of his punches alone is tough. Add to that how he can continuously pepper you from any distance and he can really punish guys.
He’s actually so fluid for his size that we don’t actually realize how impactful some of his punches are. He always seems to be throwing at 75% but it just looks that way because of his size. Every now and then you see clips of different camera angles and he just seems to have so much effect with so little visual effort.
With his weight, snap, cast like hands from wraps, and how small gloves are to him relative to his hand size, etc...dude is borderline hitting you with a mallet straight through the gloves.
Just imagine even a wrapped hands Tyson Fury flicking a jab at you with deadweight how much it would hurt. Now imagine he puts effort into it. S hiiiiiit.
We’re watching a giant Kodiak bear somehow be allowed to fight a bunch of pandas and black bears.
A 270 pound guy will hurt you when he hits you. Compared to most fighters his power will be good.
Compared to most 240+ fighters I'd say it's below average. I'm sure he could hit harder, but that requires a loss of control, and he doesn't sacrifice control for power.

8/10 doesnt have to be Iron Mike explosiveness power. He just has raw weight and skill behind his punches. It’s 8/10 taking it all into consideration.
If he was 5/10 in PRACTICE, Wilder would just run up on him as would anyone else and there’d be zero respect. Except that didn’t happen. He stopped Wilder, put him down with a single punch. It’s just a matter of effort with him.
Get real. He might be 5/10 against a bigger man than himself, but he’s 8/10 in practice against someone like Wilder who’s 40+ pounds lighter, or these other HWs he’s got 10-20-30 pounds on.
He doesn’t have one punch fight ending power on average, but he does have “wtf do I do now?” power and sheer weight behind EVERY punch. Even his jabs are heavy. At that size you get as much as others and with less effort.
