  • Comments Thread For: Lopez: I Expected More From Lomachenko; He Was Pretty Basic, Honestly

LAS VEGAS Teofimo Lopez prepared for a more difficult fight than Vasiliy Lomachenko gave him Saturday night. Lopez upset Lomachenko by big margins on all three scorecards in their 12-round, 135-pound title unification fight at MGM Grand Conference Center. The youngest fully unified champion in the sport's four-belt era out-boxed a favored former champ who is widely viewed as one of the most intelligent, skillful technicians of his generation.

Yup, what I seen pretty basic did not know to adjust, came out trying to shoot the same combos (that was even his instructions in the corner) but Lopez is just as skilled as lomachenko so that nullified the matrix and NeoFimo Lopez aka The Glitch caused Lomachenko to crash.

Lona is a skilled fighter. But he just hit a wall last night. I mean to be fair, it was apparent in the Linares fight that he didn't have the requisite size, skill, or power to go up and dominate at 135. Hes still a top 5 fighter. But he isn't nearly as untouchable as he was painted out as being.

I think the loss wouldn't have been that dramatic if Loma just respected Lopez in the post-fight sequences.

Thurman actually gotten alot more respect after his loss with Pac because of the way he carried himself after the fight. Thurman did a half-way bow to Pac then raised Pac's hands. Complimented Pac after the fight. Made no excuses. And politely asked for a rematch.

Something about Loma rubbed me up the wrong way. I can believe Teo saying Loma is just a diva.

Weird because when Loma was Loma you looked completely lost and out of your baskets... Kudos on the "Unified" though...
