Last night wasn't Teo winning. It was Loma losing.

This is what you DIDN'T hear at the post-fight presser. But it's exactly what was going through the minds of both fighters.

Loma lost because he chose to lose with a faulty strategy. Period.

Just like Srisaket chose to lose against Estrada in the rematch.

Just like Choco chose to lose against Srisaket in the first fight.

Just like Manny chose to lose against Floyd.

Just like Judah chose to lose against Paulie.

Just like Broner chose to lose against Porter.

Just like Mikey chose to lose against Spence.

Despite the vast majority of NSB predicting a knockout, Lomachenko was never hurt by this man except in round 12 when he threw for the fences and got clipped a couple of times.

Lomachenko fought the wrong fight in the first half. It cost him. Period.

Second half, Lopez was eating punches that made him repeatedly reset and had no answer for. Loma could have been done with it in Round 11 straight up - Lopez was tired. Loma didn't do it. Just like Manny didn't finish Horn in Round 9 like he should have.

And we see what happens when fighters don't finish.

So...Lopez got his hand raised amidst sketchy scorecards. It's fine he got his hand raised. But what I saw isn't what Max Kellerman saw. I saw a Loma who had a crap strategy giving away a fight. I saw a Lopez who had not improved his defense at all from the Nagatani fight.

In a rematch, Loma wins if only because Lopez wouldn't be as focused.

Lomachenko fought the first seven rounds scared of Lopez's power. That's what happened and that's why he waited so long to get going.

Lopez swept the first 7 rounds easily and then easily won the 12th. 116-112 all day long.

You're a fucking idiot if you think these guys "choose" to lose at this level. Their opponents make it impossible for them to get into their comfort zone.

It is unanimously agreed that Broner doesn't let his hands go. That's NOT because of comfort, it's because he chooses to lose.

And you heard Grabomir. It's a thing.

It's like when you're playing chess against your nephew and you lose on purpose to make him feel good.

They “chose” to lose? I’m starting to think you don’t know what your talking about. All of those guys you named were outclassed & outboxed by their opponents clear as day. Loma lost because he feared Teo’s power & thought he would fight a different fight, but that’s not what happened & he ended up losing. It’s ok to be wrong sometimes, last night YOU WERE WRONG, it’s that simple.

Loma wasn't outboxed, HE DIDN'T THROW for five rounds.

Outboxed is what happened with Wilder against Stiverne in the first fight.

Loma chose to lose that fight by CHOOSING a strategy that he had to know wasn't going to work when you have judges that like aggression.

This is what happens with boxing fans. My fav fighter lost so here's my list of excuses. It's pathetic. Take the L.

                  Excuses list.

                  Didn't try
                  too small
                  too old
lost, so he's suddenly past prime
                  looking past him
                  cheated by judges
                  cheated by ref
                  ring size
                  object in gloves
                  wrong shorts
                  wrong trainer
                  fight started too late
                  His breakfast was all wrong
                  canvas was sticky
                  entrance suit was too heavy
                  wore the wrong boxing boots
chipped a fingernail before the fight

It's a joke. Lopez was by far the better man.

Loma threw punches every round, it may not have been at the volume you wanted, but he still threw punches every single round and Teo outlanded him in the first 6 and 12. Loma got outboxed, point blank period.
