Hate to break it to everyone but Loma had championship fight experience but this was Loma first big fight as well, tell me about a big fight Loma has had? This was Loma biggest challenge as well, Loma is talented no doubt, but his career has been carefully put together by Bob after he lost to Salido (a fight he never avenged I might add) point is Loma has looked good against decent competition but the 2 times he stepped up he has lost, so I think we could agree maybe Loma was put on a pedestal and a bit overrated.
First of all, Green K. Loma had an exstensive Ammy career... And people also tend to overemphasize that the fights were for a strap, a belt, so to speak... I don't attach much to the second point... Adrian Broner also fought for many belts lol.

I also think that people didn't look at the Salidad fight as instructive. Fighters like Salidad, Glencoff Johnson, and other tough, excellent fighters who are sort of journeymen, but perpetually underestimated, teach us all kinds of things about "great" fighters.

Salidad though not technically with the chops of a Lopez, showed that pressure and strength can be a real problem for Loma.

Maybe but Loma did fine when he actually did engage. The main reason he lost is because he refused to engage at all for the first 6 rounds whether fear of being KOd or other reasons. I do think Lopez’ KO talk got to Loma but Loma’s corner needs to accept some responsibility here for being too complacent telling Loma to stay relaxed after handing rounds to Lopez. The fact that Loma actually thinks he won the fight tells me that his corner was completely misleading him about what transpired the first 6-7 rounds. They should have been ringing the alarm bells after the first 3-4 rounds calling for offence and aggression.

This was a close fight IMO.

I don't think Teo won the first 7 rounds.

I think Loma won the 2nd round and I could give him te 7th.

        I had it 6/6.

        Teo was not landing clean.

Just finished rewatching . Lopez clearly won rounds 1,3,4,5,6,12 Loma clearly won 8,9,10,11 . 2 and 7 were toss ups i gave Loma the 2nd and Lopez the 7th so 115-113 Lopez. Would love to see a rematch i think Loma would do a lot better now that he got a chance to figure out Lopez at the same time tho Lopez is so much bigger and stronger that Lopez might just knock him the **** out if Loma gets to aggressive

With so many things to consider and so much to be said,
of everything I've heard/read so far no one yet has said -

For as intelligent as he is said to be, and as genius as he often appears and has proven (which I believe him to be more than I dont, unlike the masses that neglect anyone's career success after a loss/anything less than spectacular), apparently Lomachenko is not smart enough to admit his fault in starting too late to win this fight, and/or to acknowledge the better man (on the night, maybe going forward?) winning.

I never understood the idea of being "gracious in defeat". I wont. I dont like losing and am strongly adverse to losing. I think everyone should be, but in speaking on it, being disappointed/fired up after losing is very different from being a sore loser.

Vasiliy might have been distracted by the 119-109 card, understandably, but he is delusional in thinking anything other than the fact that he lost, and didnt appear to me as smart in being sore about it.

Did Teo WIN? Or, did Loma lose? Were the fourteen months "off" a factor? Debatable. We know Teofimo should be at 40/47. Is Loma too small for 35? Debatable, BUT, a Lomachenko preference, and his obligation to defend the belts. That's on him. Was it Team Vasiliy/and his team's idea to be patient? Or was Teofimo the cause for his apprehensive start? Loma did what he wanted, when he finally decided he wanted to. That is fact, though, too little too late.

              FYI
Round by round, and not considering the narrative - I had it 7-5 Teo, easily. Loma needed the 12th for a 6-6 to be appropriate to me. He lost it.
Second to losing, the worst possible outcome for Loma wouldve been 8-4.

                Corruption

Boxing better clean it's act up. It's on national tv for all to see the uninformed folk judging fights to favor a fighter! Even the rounds Teo lost backing up and holding were given to him. It's obvious money or promise of future judging gig were mention to these blind judges. Arum probably knew the fix was in!

Don't do that to yourself Loma. I'm one of your biggest fans BUT, you didn't win this fight. Although I didn't agree with the scorecards (maybe the 116-112), last night wasn't your night.

I'm find with Julia's card Loma only clearly won the 11th, Ward was giving away rounds to Loma for absolutely no reason.

Loma won rounds 8-11 without argument. The 2nd and 7th are debatable and he needed to start earlier instead of waiting for the 7th...
