And the weight is just another excuse because Canelo earned his 154 pound title at a catchweight of 150 pounds against Matthew Hatton. So if Canelo wasn't drained at 150 you can't tell me he was drained at 152.
Bro that Hatton fight was 8 fights previous and 2.5 years before the Floyd fight. Even if it was at 150 you can't cite that as evidence that Canelo wasn't drained. Draining a guy 2 pounds, why else do it unless you think it will help? I mean come on man. We gotta factor that in when assessing that win.

Lopez and Canelo have different styles as well. And Lopez had a much better gameplan. I'm not even making a Loma-Floyd comparison as Loma has not had as much success moving up in weight as Floyd (or Manny). But those 2 fights are not an apples to apples comparison imo

Canelo's team offered the catchweight so Floyd took it. So what if it's was 2 and half years earlier? Canelo wouldn't have offered to come down if he didn't feel he could make the weight. And let's not Forget that Floyd was fighting in his FIFTH weight class while Loma was only fighting in his 3rd.

Again, the weight excuse for Canelo does not work. He was fighting an old fighter who was moving up and still couldn't win.

Like why so desperate to make this about Floyd? He was great but had his flaws and could be critiqued. Tonight was about Lopez and to a lesser extent Loma. Floyd isn't relevant here and your insistence on bringing him up is odd.

Lol. Speaking of “old fighters” and a “weight excuse.” How come the “seasoned” Gym rat in Floyd couldn’t make 2lbs with Marquez?

But but weight deprivation doesn’t exist doe. You’ve got guys like Berlanga rehydrating 20lbs on fight night but Floyd couldn’t give up 2lbs of water? Yeah sure.

It's not that Canelo is only too young, he's very inexperienced and yet to be in his peak at the time... And this is Floyd Mayweather we're talking about, not Vasiliy Lomachenko... Some catchweight haters will also use that excuse...
