Nobody was talking about canelo here until you rode in on his cawk.It was a Draw. Nobody won. Trella is as good as Weisfeld. Did Canelo fight like Loma and did GGg fight like Lopez? Lol. You guys gotta know the scoring criteria. Jabs vs Power punches is not the same as Loma basically doing nothing for the first half! Learn your boxing! Dont hate on Canelo just because

The layoff certainly could have played a role but plenty of fighters during this Covid-19 time will be facing long layoffs. Spence will be on a 15 month lay off himself when he steps in to fight Garcia.
Lopez had a 10 month layoff himself. Not quite 14 months but that's just what it is for a lot of fighters unfortunately.
Either way, Lomachenko has nothing to be ashamed from this loss. Fought well late and showed his true championship character.Comment

No, the reason he beat Walters is Walters didn't even try....that was the fight where I started doubting loma's credibility...something wasn't right there. How many fights since that pay day did Walters have? I think NONE..correct me if I'm wrong.Comment

Walters was outclassed. Loma broke him.
Lopez didn't do what Lomachenko wanted him to do. He didn't act foolish early. And he didn't fold/act foolish when Loma applied the pressure. And while I respect Lopez tremendously for that, and believe LOmachenko is a victim of his own hubris, I fully believe that mistakes happen. Lopez was an unknown commodity. He definitely didn't show signs that he was as mature and restrained a fighter as he was tonight.
Not a bad loss for Loma, really. It was a close competitive fight with a HUGE dude who is perfectly designed for the modern era of Boxing. Anyone who says otherwise is just a casual.Comment

I think Loma thought that he could counter Lopez on the backfoot because Lopez would be making lots of mistakes.Comment

Lomachenko should retire. All the "ducking" and fights not happening for years at 126 and 130 were all supposed to be prelude, building up to, spectacular wins at 135 and 140. And before he even gets a chance at the first one, he forfeits the first six rounds of a fight vs Adrien Broner and loses a UD.
He should just retire. I was a huge fan but I have to face reality, Ukrainians, Khazaks, and even in some cases Philipinos, depending on the financial clout of the opponent, simply do not sell enough tickets or pay-per-views to be successful at the very top level of the sport.Comment
