  • Scorecards aside the right man won. Teo had so many early rounds in the bank and lomas lack of output did him no favors. Teo is probably a hair faster than loma with a reach, size and power advantage. That’s a whole lot to overcome no matter who you are. I think loma figured him out but by then it was way too late Teo already had enough rounds.

7-5 or 8-4 for Teo. 11-1 did not happen. I could see loma starting early and winning the rematch or i can see him getting dropped early for opening up while Teo is still fresh. I think Loma should move to 130 but with the belts scattered, there’s no clear path to undisputed. Rematch seems more likely

True. I think Lomachenko wasn't ready for Lopez's speed and footwork because Lopez looked much more flatfooted and methodical in his earlier fights.

      • Teo showed grit and championship pedigree in the stretch. Mental stamina. Man that dude is twitchy and got crazy sharp reflexes. One scorecard was super dumb but the others were fine and the right man won.

Teo put respect on his name tonight. He boxed the master boxer but also showed ring maturity.

I’m about to hit Lopez Sr for some psychic advice.

It’s a fact. Lopez was never wobbled or hurt at any point.

He had to bite down because Loma decided to throw more than 10 punches a round finally and at no point did Lopez not fire back during any round.

Lomachenko made a fight out of it, but it was too little too late and the last round was a huge round for Lopez. Solid win for Lopez.

Lomachenko had never looked real lights out impressive at 135. His best will always be at featherweight, or super featherweight. He just doesn’t have the firepower at lightweight to keep elite boxer on their toes.
He has the firepower because his punches have to be respected, The boxing ability of Lopez with his punching power had him thinking more than he should.

But Loma is still a great fight and like all good fighters they loose when they keep climbing up in weight. He has to be commended even on the loss the challenges that he faces at higher weights.

Shout out to Lopez for taking this risk, we need to see that more often!

Also kudos to Loma for doing his best to come back from that deep hole he put himself into!

I started off rooting for Teo and ended up rooting for Loma cuz of the sheer determination and no quit attitude!

Would love to see a rematch cuz it was definitely ended up being close despite what the judges had but let’s get Lopez vs Haney for ALL the belts!
I like your attitude about the fight. I would love to see Haney and Lopez, not so much interested in the rematch... The Salidad fight seems to have set a precedent... When Lopez was asked how he beat him what he said impressed me. The kid was right, he had the confidence to execute.

There’s no reason to bite down over 10 basic punches. You just sound dumb right now.

                Please rewatch round 11

                • props to Lopez, I was expecting Loma to school him and maybe stops him late but I was totally wrong. There are only 2 big fights left for him at 135 before he moves up to 140. Davies and Haney. But if he decides to move up now then perhaps Prograis will be a good first fight before he fights the Ramirez or Taylor.

                    • Wow crazy Lopez was too good tonight, good rally by Loma late but he took the first 6 rounds off and didn't finish as strong as he would have liked scores were too wide but the right man won. Where to from here for Loma?! Lopez is the man at 135 now!
