One of the reasons big fights don’t do great numbers in today’s climate is because all the mega fights are on PPV. People have gotten so used to that even casuals, in a way it’s like they’ve been conditioned. Then on regular cable it’s either mismatches on PBC or full cards of unknowns (in the casual world) on ESPN. This turns people off.

I’m a firefighter. When we’re not on a call we’re watching tv, grubbin, working out etc. you guys don’t know how many times I’ve had to fight for the remote to watch a fight because none of the other guys wanna watch boxing. Or when they do it’s either a mismatch, a robbery or a “boring” fight. Boxing doesn’t do itself any favors & for fans like me who try to share my love of the sport with others. People look at me like I’m an idiot. “How do you watch this? Boxing sucks” - probably heard it a million times

Depends on the specific card, that one was shown the exact same way Loma/Lopez will be. Theres no excuse for this to not break a million. I think it will do in the 1.3-1.5m range.

Hearn said that he took a gamble on Loma and it turned out to be the lowest selling PPV he's ever done (presumably for his last fight against Campbell).

Boxers not fighting often enough is killing the sport. In this day and age you need to keep catching headlines because news changes quick.

Why would you expect anybody to give a **** about boxers who fight one good fight a year and a sure thing tuneup as a second fight at best. That does nothing for the profile of the boxer or the sport as people lose interest.

Then to put that **** behind subscription or PPV paywalls? Come on, it's not rocket science.

They need to do more or should I say most fights on network tv. All the PPV is too much. I say take a page from Olympians like Usain Bolt and others who get the endorsements that build their brand. Boxers need to become household names like back in the day to build the fanbase. PPV's should be stacked and multiple title fights

How can a fight between the supposed p4p #1 and a youngster who isn’t anywhere near the top 10 p4p list be a “great fight”?

How well has Arum promoted this fight? I have YouTube TV and I haven't seen one advertisement for it.
