Comments Thread For: Lopez: After I Beat Lomachenko, I Want Bigger Names, Bigger Fights Than Verdejo

Teofimo Lopez obviously isn't looking past Vasiliy Lomachenko. The unbeaten IBF lightweight champion wasn't trying to disrespect Felix Verdejo, either. When he was asked, however, about boxing Verdejo next if he beats Lomachenko on Saturday night, Lopez expressed interest in other opponents over Verdejo.

If he can beat Loma, than he should move up to 140, especially if he can't make 135 anymore, and then to 147. If he loses to Loma, depending on how the fight goes, then he should move up to 140 and try his hand at that weight. He either becomes just a contender after the Loma fight or he becomes a star with the sky being the limit.

If it's controversial I don't see people wanting to pay for a fight that they feel was a scam. I am going with a Loma stoppage in the later rounds maybe around 8 or 9.

IF he beats Loma. As much as I like Verdejo, he shouldn't even be in this convo. If he loses, then maybe that would be an option. Even then, Verdejo would still be a dangerous comeback opponent.

              Author Says:

Teofimo Lopez obviously isn’t looking past Vasiliy Lomachenko.

              Teofimo Says:

“After I beat Vasiliy Lomachenko on October 17th, I think that I wanna look ahead to bigger names and bigger fights.”

              I then say:

Total fail in the first three paragraphs and it will cost Lopez dearly.

I think they will if loma gets bested. I see loma getting hit more times in this fight than he ever has in any fight in his entire career.

He wants bigger names just not bigger fighters. Gonna be tough for him to get fights moving up if he doesn't want tall opponents again.

I don't at all see him get hit more than ever, just potentially harder and how Loma handles that power, avoids that power, or fails to is what will determine the outcome.
