Teofimo Lopez is in trouble mentally. That's what his fans don't see. They just see that he has power, is physically in shape, and very confident but there is more to boxing than just physical ability. There's such a big mental side to boxing and I disregard this Teo and Dad thing, that's nothing, what concerns me is his reaction to his performance vs Nakatani. He got emo after that fight and started insinuating that he's quitting boxing. He also took a lot of abuse from fans, about being exposed and being a hypejob and that got to him too. You can't let that get to you, for fans, everyone is a hypejob. That's a given. But Lopez is too young and too inexperienced and just not mentally elite yet for Lomachenko.
There was plenty of top 10 LW's to fight before Lomachenko who would have been good wins. For example I would loved to see Lopez dispatch the paper champion Devin Haney by KO, that would be nice to watch. He could have also gone with an older fighter like Linares, who could be a highlight reel KO for anyone with the chin he has. Campbell would have been a good test as well. Bart, Easter, Fortuna. So many names he could have used to gain experience before fighting a top 3 P4P fighter.

I have no idea why fighters have social media.
Lopez, should not be on social media if he cannot cope with criticism.
As a boxing fan, a coach and a parent I will tell anyone who is betting to bet on Lopez losing via, quitting and using his father as an excuse...This may be his last fight but will def be the last with his father and he will fall off and be forgotten..

Social media is only for weasels.

What does number of belts have to do with anything?
The bottom line is - Lopez is a mental case and you can't be that in there against Lomachenko, lest you end up embarrassed.
This isn't even about "oh Teo lost a belt" - this is basically him running his mouth AND having Loma pay him to get him in the ring, only to get dominated?
He'll never live it down and would have to go on suicide watch.
