It was handed to him. Haney was the one who was supposed to fight Campbell but then Arum paid the wbc to cast Haney aside and have Loma fight Campbell instead, and as if that wasn't crooked enough, they went and petitioned to get the franchise tag to avoid defending their title against Haney.

This is called doing a 2 for 1. When it's convenient to promote Haney as the champion because he has a fight coming up that you want to sell tickets to and hype up, you call him champion. Then he goes on the bench for 4 months, while Lomachenko fights, and as Lomachenko's fight approaches, you bring up how he has the WBC belt and he's the champion.

2 for 1. In a sport with 4 sanctioning bodies and a billion weight classes. YOU ARE BEING MANIPULATED, PURPOSEFULLY, AND SKILLFULLY.

Either Canelo and Lomachenko are still real champions and Haney and Charlo aren't champions, or Canelo and Lomachenko vacated and Charlo and Haney are the real champions. You can't have it both ways.

So pick one.

The way I see it - Canelo and Loma are still real champions. Charlo/Haney arent, but Charlo probably has a better claim since he just beat a legit guy and I dont see Canelo coming back to 160.

I'm not reading through the 100+ comments so apologies if this has already been addressed, but, hasn't Sulaimonkey previously said the WBC Frecnfries title was a non-transferable honorary title? How can this be for the undisputed if there isn't a WBC title up for grabs? Or has Sulaimong pulled another random rule out of his poop shoot?

We all truly know that Lomachenko is the legit WBC champion. Due to trying to circumvent the politics with Canelo and make an easier path to grab titles in different weight classes they made a very confusing situation.

I like Devin Haney but he is not the recognized WBC titleholder by most. To earn that respect he has to beat the winner of Lomachenko-Lopez.

It also creates a troubling situation for Jermall Charlo with the WBC as well since Canelo has franchise status.

This is a very objective and balanced perspective. Quite sensible.
