    If Lomachenko loses.

If Lomachenko loses on Saturday, how will it affect his legacy?

I don't think it'll affect it too badly. He's still accomplished more in 15-16 fights than most fighters do in their whole careers. He's tied for fewest number of fights to win a world title, and holds the record for fewest number of fights to become a 3 weight world champion.

Don’t you know how boxing works now at a high level?

If you lose a fight, you were always an overhyped bum

If you win, you’re an ATG.

      It will take a hit.

The first thing is about how the loss happens. If Lopez simply beats him up, then it is worse for Loma's legacy. If Lopez wins because he sneaks in a dirty headbutt which the ref ignores, opens a cut on Loma and Loma has to retire...

It also takes time to really gauge the impact of that kind of thing. If Lopez wins, then goes on to become P4P #1 and reigns for 10 years, then the loss doesn't look as bad. If Lopez wins, then gets stopped by Haney in his next fight, then Loma's loss would look worse.

I think that the basis of Loma's legacy has already been laid down. He already has some solid accomplishments, and a couple of firsts to his name. He's a lock for first ballot HoF. The next question for him is where he sits amongst the ATGs. If he gets beat up by Lopez, that question is affected in the negative.

Only know once his career is over. He could lose and still beat lopez in a rematch and clean shop. What happens will happen. At least the fans are getting a fight they’ve been wanting to see. May the best man win.

if he loses this fight he would be 14-2
with the two losses being against bums.
it would make lomo nothing more than a mere gate keeper tbh

thats what happens when you lose twice to bums before you've even had 20 fights.

I can't believe people think Lomachenko has any chance of winning. He got shutout 12-0 against Salido and would have lost to Gary Russell if they counted the knockdown. I had Linares winning every round in that fight until Lomachenko punched him in the nuts and got a gift KO. Teofimo Lopez will blast this fggt white boy out within a few rounds. This is a mismatch.

I wouldn't be surprised if Loma dominates Teofimo

He’s already a certified first ballot HOF’er but a loss would hurt his current standing as one the very best P4P fighters in the sport. Teofimo would also likely be viewed as an elite P4P talent in the process.
