There are usually few talented fighters who actually train MMA or Boxing at some of their events, but a majority of them are just random guys off the couch. Supposedly if you get 8 wins in the “yard” they’ll sponsor your pro career if you wish to pursue one.

Definitely not true. A man in his prime or not far past it has an advantage over a young kid or man in a 30 sec bar fight, which is about as long as they last. The only advantage a younger guy has is stamina and stamina isn't required when street fights last under a minute. And grown man strength is real.

I'd put my money on a 40 year old with training over a 25 year old random from street beefs 8 days a week, 25 hours a day, 366 days a year and twice on Sundays.

I'm gonna take a guess by his comment he's one of the young guys and could probably benefit from being taught what a 40 year old can do. I can tell you this I've encountered several young guys in my older years that decided against trying the old man LMAO

There are some actual fighters too. Not very many, but every now and again a trained fighter shows up.

Recently a big fat nerd in a karate gi showed up and everybody laughed at him.

Then he won his first fight with an instant head kick KO and won his second fight with an easy takedown into ground and pound. Turned out he was a legit amateur MMA fighter with a background mostly in karate and BJJ.
