To say hes not that good is idiotic
He would give any heavyweight problems (the version that fought wilder anyways)

He would be competitive with any heavyweight win or lose so to say hes not that good just shows your ignorance and non understanding of the sport

The poor guy never got a shot until it was too late ,in his prime he would have dominated and kod joshua and wilder easily
He's good. I'd still take him to beat somebody ranked as high as Povetkin. Thing is he got beat by Wilder so now we hear about how "he only beat Jennings" like clockwork. Nobody was saying he ****** before the Wilder loss, they just don't want to admit Wilder has a good win.

Why isn’t the opposite true? That Ortiz is hyped up just to give Wilder a standout win.
The evidence points towards it... with Ortiz literally having 1 name on there, 5 years ago

I’d like to hear your thinking

Because people liked Ortiz long before he was ever even being considered as a Wilder opponent

          I’m sure he had fans
What has that got to with anything though?

He was promotionally hyped and then exposed twice by the weaker titleholder. Resume to match

The threads about him being so bad didn't exist back then. People are pretty weird about Wilder. They get this kinda stuff from Montero and parrot it.

            "Bryant Jennings"

            It's clockwork...

Look at the ring top ten. Why is Rivas on there? Why is Pulev on there? Who'd they beat? Jennings and Hughie Fury?

Clockwork or not, argue against the point and not the person

Ortiz’s resume is extremely poor. How are you so sure that he as such a good win, and not the opposite?

You want me to argue Ortiz has a good resume? He doesn't. Everybody knew he passed the eye test for years, it's why nobody fought him. Idk what to tell ya, bud. If you wanna do the status quo Montero "Jennings" stuff go for it...

Ortiz is a solid HW but at 41 (if that is his real age) these fights are meaningless. In my opinion his resume is kind of thin. His best win is over Jennings. That fight he looked great as Jennings had been coming of a decent fight vs Klitschko. Other than the 2 losses to Wilder he hasn’t beat a top 15 HW. His next best win was against Hammer who is a fringy top 25-30 HW. After that it’s Malik Scott & Travis Kauffman. Jennings was top 15 at the time so he gets props for that but he really is still unknown at the top level. He has the skills but he hasn’t got the resume. I won’t crap on Wilder for beating him twice when no one else has really jumped at the chance to fight him. I won’t call him the boogyman but over the last several years nobody has been mentioning him as their first choice of opponent. He is kind of stuck in limbo.
