This is the exact kind of response you'd get from an American; baiting the UK so you are probably fake-American; Canadian.Comment

Yep . We are being told to “Support” the foreign fights. A fight that would come on at 4/5am, pay for it, record it and then watch it later (When it’s free on social media)
The logic is amazing isn’t it? The length some would go to try and sound intelligent, especially when they are losing an argument. Instead of admitting they got it wrong they can’t bring themselves to doing so.Comment

I never pay for something that has no worth, I can't afford to throw money away for nothing. I'll leave that to the dummies and people with more money than sense.
"Please contribute *******ly to this multi-millionaire boxers' coffers, you are doing the sport a favour by artificially increasing the purse of big fights and don't forget the poor managers/promoters like Hearn and Arum who deserve your money far more than your family do, we thank you in advance for your ******ity."Comment

You are probably the only American poster who actually acknowledges what we have to go through over here, so kudos to you.
For example, am not a big fan of the Davis/Cruz fight. I have made my feelings clear about that, but does that mean I wouldn’t watch it over here at 4/5am when it comes on? No I would still watch it live.
The issue is if PBC sells it to BT sport or Sky sport as a PPV fight, non of them would pick it up. It’s not because they don’t think it would be a great fight, it’s the timing of everything.
A boxing fan might stay up, but they need to reach audiences that goes beyond a boxing fan, they need casuals to buy those fights, and no casual fan would stay up to pay for a fight that doesn’t involve a marquee british name.
Joshua v Ruiz is one of the lowest PPV sales for Joshua in the U.K. because it happened at 4-5am. Even I fell asleep trying to keep up, the only reason I was able to get through that fight was because Joshua was getting destroyed.
So to see sooo many ignorant posters in this thread, telling us how to sleep and wake up or set alarms etc is just laughable.
Kudos to you guys.Comment

Then why stop at buying PPV? Why not buy a ringside seat and just not turn up? You can still watch it on YouTube and you will be supporting the fight far more than a PPV buy.

I have the Patience to wait a day to watch the fight on YouTube and 80% of the time the ppv is lackluster so why pay $75+ for that product.
I like boxing fans like yourself that know what’s going on in the scene. Boxing fans are treated the worseComment

I feel the same way as well. Got to be smart and save $$, these promoters, networks and fighters cry about not getting paid and they’re vastly getting over paid anyways.

All things being equal, you'd watch live right?
I don't pay to support the fighters (thigh the might be specific times that I would do that). I pay because I think it is worth it to me. It's an individual assessment of worth.
I'm in Australia now so boxing isn't too bad. UK fights are early (5am or so) on a Sunday but not too demanding. PPVs are around the $50 mark.
I still get up for every Everton match (soccer). So do my young kids - that's anywhere between midnight and 4am kickoffs for a two hour event. And we do it at least once a week for 9 months a year. Not that big a deal.
As a kid in the UK I always did it with my Dad for the US fights.
Just a question of what you're prepared to pay, and whether you want to experience it live.Comment
