Boxnation was easily more committed. It was literally dedicated to showing boxing before it became essentially defunct.

BT are giving us Dubois-Joyce for free, that’s far more commitment than Sky have shown in years. They don’t even give us Dillian Whyte for free.

ITV are just as bad as Sky nowadays but in the 80’s, 90’s they were far more committed than Sky will ever be. Unfortunately due to their FREE terrestrial model, Sky were able to price them out with their subscription based model.

And that’s just the UK scene, Showtime, ESPN, even DAZN are all far more committed to boxing than Sky. It’s not even close...

I'm British and have American family. They only want things their own way which is then reflected in the world of sport. American Football/NFL ; not popular anywhere else. Baseball; popular in a few other countries. Basketball; same as baseball. Football (Soccer) - nope, we didn't invent it so we don't like it.

Who really gives two shits what PPV events are on? Pick the ones you want to watch and pay the money, if not; don't watch it. End of.

Insecurity, in trying to take shots at certain personalities in boxing, they themselves come across as idiots.

Loma/Lopez isn’t picked up by any major TV networks in the UK because of timing and the fact that it doesn’t involve a British fighter.

Yes it’s a great fight, no doubt but how many people are going to pay for it at 4am? Which was the point that anyone who has a sensible brain would think.

If Arum didn’t want it as a PPV fight in the UK and doesn’t charge too much to put it on BT sport or Sky then am sure they would have picked it up.

But we have all these “Boxing fans” who think networks not taking the risk is something for British boxing.

Am a boxing fan but am not paying £20 to wake up at 4am to watch those fights.

If the fight is at 10/11pm fine, not when am sleeping. If that makes me a casual then am a casual 100%

You are straight up telling us BS, American fans are the most ignorant fans in boxing.

And that is by data, if the timing doesn’t suit them then nothing else matters, that is what is known in boxing.

This is why promoters tries to cater to American fans. Because the most view would come from there at prime time.

British fans are the more loyal fans, but no one is going to stay up at 4am in the morning to watch a non Uk fight on PPV.

It’s not a viable option, all that BS that you are ranting about makes zero sense (Pay for a fight live but record it to watch it another time - By the time when the fight is already free lol)... You trying too hard mate.
Again. I PAID for Dazn, because of the Prograis-Taylor and Joshua-Ruiz fights, even though they were on at 5PM EST over here. The Joshua-Ruiz fight I caught live, the Taylor-Prograis fight, I happened to not be home that Saturday, so I caught it on replay. Again, as a boxing fan, support good fights when they're made. If you can't make it to 3-4 AM, take some No Doze. I don't know what to tell you.

I'd be pissed, if hypothetically Taylor-Ramirez happened in the UK, and no American network wanted to pick it up because of the time difference; but the very next month, we got Arreola-Kownacki on PPV.

            But that's just me.

As a Sky Sports subscriber, I have to say I'm disappointed at this development.
Babic the Savage is all well and good but it's a premium subscription which should be delivering premium content. Lomachenko Vs Lopez fits the bill.

That said, I would have thought Loma/Lopez and Brook/Crawford would be on BT. They've carried ESPN content for years and then there's the Top Rank/Queensberry connection, so there must be some validity to what Hearn and Smith are saying here.

Overall, it's a bit of shambles to have a Brit going up against a pound for pound fighter with no coverage. Hearn himself says that Brook always does good numbers.

I don’t mind staying up, but like you pointed out it’s hard for Sunday. I work on sundays and when am not working I need to be in church, much time am falling asleep at work lol.

I still do the 4am fights by sleeping early after work on Saturday night (Miss football because of it). Then wake up around the second to the main event fight.

But it’s tough as you get older and then having to go to church or work 3 hours after the end of the fight.

Some people really are ignorant pieces of shit. They live in their own ignorant bubble 😳

For the 100th time, it's not dumb, it's called supporting fighters who decide to get in the ring with the best, regardless of whether the fight happens at a geographically convenient time for you.

ANYBODY who doesn't support great fights, as few and far between as they are, is not a boxing fan, but a cheapskate. Keep streaming.

P.S. nothing against those that don't have the extra income to pay.

You talking about DAZN, we are talking about PPV at 4am.

I pay for BT sport, Amazon, Netflix etc and refuse to pay for sky.

Financially it’s not viable for Arum to want to sell that fight to a British network as a PPV fight, those network would not make their monies back.

It’s simple economics, it’s nothing to do with the fight being poor, Loma isn’t Mayweather over here, nor is Lopez known.

Boxing fans would wake up yes, but you want to sell to more people than boxing fans, and the chances of that happening at 4am is a lot worse than if that fight was at 10pm here.
