I just won’t pay to watch average fighters.

I’d rather pay $70 to watch world class boxing.
If I were in the UK, I probably would! Would you pay $13 for Jaron Ennis vs. Vergil Ortiz Jr., if they were fighting this weekend? I know I would!

      He’s not wrong

How on earth is Usyk v Del Boy PPV?

Can you even use the excuse that the fight doesn’t happen unless it’s PPV because of no crowds when Loma v PPV isn’t PPV and Joyce v Dubois isn’t PPV

It seems like the sky are only willing to put a decent fight on if you pay money to watch it, where as other networks are at least trying to give good fight without being PPV. Sky are only offering low level cards unless you pay

Other networks and promoters are now looking much better right now

Or....maybe, just maybe, you're just reaching and clutching onto abstract unquantifiable BS because you want to **** on Hearn and Matchroom?

I agree with this in theory, but then somehow Queensbury does relatively piss poor ratings and crowds and has a much lower profile than the promotion sticking its fights behind a paywall.

He probably couldnt though. Hes a slimy bastard just like Eddie and every other boxing promoter. Its the same thing as Arum in the US where he pretends he keeps stuff off PPV for ethical reasons when in reality he just knows it would bomb compared to his competitors and he'll end up looking bad.

And lets be honest, Dubois and Yarde in particular would be much bigger stars if they were with Matchroom. Again, Frank for whatever reason seriously struggles to garner interest for his shows even when hes giving them away, how is that good for British boxing?
Carl Froch used to fight on prime time Sky. Now Dillian Whyte has had 5 PPV’s. Which is a more credible product?

it’s not even worth responding. The cult of Hearn remains strong...

Yeah man, but they are two elite prospects. Dereck Chisora is what European level. Dillian Whyte has never even fought for a European title.

Whyte-Chisora is essentially the equivalent of Brezeale-Hunter being on PPV in the US.

It’s more about the principle than the price for me. I’ve paid thousands to watch fights in Vegas, LA etc but that’s because they are quality matchups like Canelo-GGG, Fury-Wilder etc. I just won’t pay to watch guys who will never be world class fighters.

Sky have always done this. Even before Hearn. They never invest in boxing and only view it as a product they can quickly monetise and cash out on.

                  Absolutely

But I think it’s even more highlighted at this current time when other networks are finding ways to give good fights away from PPV.

It’s understandable that certain fights just cannot be made otherwise, such as an AJ fight, but theres ‘s some fights matchroom are putting on PPV that cannot be justified when other networks are giving better fights without it

It’s the worst it’s ever been atm and that’s partly down to Hearn. Both Matchroom and Sky have similar morals in regard to boxing.

I have no issue paying for Fury or AJ fights as they are world champions, and world class fighters. But trying to charge people to watch Chisora or Whyte whilst only making fights like Buatsi-Calic available for Sky subscribers is absolutely disgraceful. You are getting no value for your money.

I was thinking about DuBois vs. Joyce! I think that's the equivalent (for UK fans) of Ennis vs. Ortiz Jr.!
