Too late for him to learn anything new. Fury will win by another brutal beatdown. This time, no one will be in the corner to save him.

Let’s be honest though; Wilder’s resume pre-Szpilka was laughably weak. His difficulties now are more the result of actually fighting live bodies rather than some technical issue.Comment

No agenda or hatred here. My concern is the move he chose. Breland may not be the next coming of Eddie Futch or Manny Steward but he seemed more knowledgeable than Deas based off of what I've heard come from their mouths.
I wouldn't be as concerned if Wilder replaced Breland with someone else that could bring experience, insight and education.
Sometimes it's addition by subtraction, but my humble opinion is he subtracted the wrong member of the corner. Even if Breland brought nothing else, he was the only one in that corner who was cognizant enough to know his man was defeated and the fight should be stopped. Deas, on the other hand, apparently believed that if a broken and battered Wilder (who could barely stand upright with out wobbling) pushed Fury back, he could land his right and all would be well again.
To me that is telling and that is my issue with the move.Comment

I agree with your point that there needed to be changes. Sticking with Jay Deas is not in any way like those other changes you listed though.Question for those not bent by nationalism or some burning hatred of wilder because Eddie Hearn told them to.....at this point what has Breland done for Wilder’s style? Wilder fought better on his pre-Szpilka days than he has now. Wilder looked more complete as an amateur than he does now. Obviously there needed to be some changes. You can’t expect wilder to keep Breland just because Breland threw in the towel. It’s what led to the towel having to be thrown in is what I see as a problem. Fighters switch trainers ALL THE TIME when they think it’s time and someone can help them
More. Did lewis stay with Correa? Did Holyfield stay with Duva? Did delahoya stay with alcazar?

Fitz says that the late, great Emmanuel Stewart was the only one who could have helped transform Wilder. Even if Emmanuel were still with us, he wouldn't train Wilder, because Fury who is now trained by Steward's nephew Sugar Hill, likely would have hired the master himself. And let's face it, If Deontay is dumb enough to fire Breland, he wouldn't be smart enough to hire Stewart.Comment

It honestly doesnt matter that much because he is never going to be on Furys level of overall boxing ability anyway, his only chance of winning just like in the last two fights is going for the kill and hoping his power will get the job done. I dont mean that as an insult to him either, he will always have a serious punchers chance against anyone, but thats the only thing he can bring to this fight. There is no other viable gameplan.Comment

You are completely missing the point. This isn't about dropping Breland, it is about not taking up the offers of help from world class boxers and trainers.Question for those not bent by nationalism or some burning hatred of wilder because Eddie Hearn told them to.....at this point what has Breland done for Wilder’s style? Wilder dropped Breland but hasn't replaced him with anybody, now he just has the single trainer in Deas that he has always had, what can he learn from that?
"some burning hatred of wilder because Eddie Hearn told them to", I didn't get Eddie's message, my lack of respect for Wilder comes from my own observations. You can only fake it for so long before you are found out.
Wilder was calling for unification whilst avoiding all quality opponents and padding out his resumé with title defences against bums. He never fought a top heavyweight until Fury.
How can you respect anybody who talks one way but walks in the opposite direction?Comment

Fury Cheated...
Lyle Fitzsimmons, do us all a favor and consider another line of work (maybe writing PR for Fury). I signed up for this format for the sole purpose of speaking directly to you. Your criticisms of Wilder are unbearable. Wilder is still undefeated in fair fights and only needs to change one thing to defeat that foreign criminal: make sure that Fury doesn’t cheat. If you cannot see Fury blinding Wilder with that extended left glove then hitting him bare-knuckles with his fist in the wrist area of that same glove, then hitting him with no padding in his right glove, with all due respect, you’re not qualified to write about boxing. Fury trained for this. If you want to be a real journalist, set up an interview with his sparring partner, Nicholas Ashbury. If you’re going to continue in this field, please don’t be a part of the problemComment
