Great Defensive Boxers REAL fighters ducked none.

Mayweather is just feeling a bit neglected and looking for publicity. He has NO hope of training Wilder, who is a wild(no pun ) swinger who either lands or doesn't. Besides I can't see a 6'7" defensive fighter all of a sudden.... Fury is just too good, too clever. His only hope is to land a finisher. The last one he landed looked like it, but Fury got up and out-boxed him, to fake draw. And he's too old to change.

ALSO....I dispute that Mayweather is one of the greatest defensive boxers of "all" time. Off the cuff I could likely name a dozen greater -and MUCH better fighters.

Like..Young Griffo,(read) Nicolino Locche, Wilfredo Benitez, Duilio Loi, Jack Johnson,(read) Willie Pep, Benny Leonard,(read) Pernell Whittaker, Jack Britton,(read) James Toney, Winky Wright, Gene Tunney, (read) Mike Tyson, Miguel Canto, Nonpareil Dempsey (read) Archie Moore, Macho Camacho, Maxie Rosenbloom (read) Billy Conn, Tommy Loughran,(read) Marcel Cerdan, Tommy Gibbons, (read) Jimmy Barry (read)

I'm tired and my memory is failing. It took me longer than I thought, It took me as long to dredge up Gibbons, Barry, Loughran, and Nonpareil Dempsey as to jot down all the others...longer. These guys were REAL fighters too. Cerdan had well over 100 wins and only 4 losses, 1 due to injury. 2 DQ, and 1 pts. later avenged.

Locche, over 125 wins. 4 losses. I remember that he had NO punch, had, I think(?) more draws than KO wins 14 d.,,12 KO w.. He smoked like a chimney, often got his corner to crowd around whilst he had a puff between rounds. Champion Fuji just gave up against him, didn't land a punch. quit in disgust. Locche was right in front of him which was his usual style of fighting. Incredible. !!

Those with (read) I mostly read about but also saw some early film, the rest I actually saw their fights on the night. I recall so well the massive effort Archie Moore put out against Yvonne Durelle, with being KD 3 times in the 1st rd.. For years, Durelle boxed only when he wasn't out on a fishing boat.

Oh sheeit! Maybe he can train him so that wearing a Wakanda outfit won't drain him then.

At Wilders age there's not a lot anyone can drastically improve .Floyd can give him pointers on defence but Tyson has his number there. Wilder needs his main asset and that's the power .He needs help for sneak attacks to get that off. Tyson will out box him every time. Wilders best form of defence is attack.

A boxer who is unable (unwilling ?) to make adjustments should retire.
It's all moot anyway. I posted some months ago, Lennox tried to help Wilder throw a proper jab.

Wilder isn't interested in learning anything new; he feels "I only need to be perfect for a few seconds".

If they try, at 36 years old, to train this guy to actually box he will get pieced up so bad by Fury it won't even be funny.

In my opinion Fury vs Wilder 3 is going to be Wilders last fight, he may as well just come out swinging round 1 and go for broke.
Wilder has like 6 kids. Win, lose, or draw he will definitely fight again.

Nothing changes over night but Wilder isn’t dumb either. I’m pulling for him in the 3rd fight.
I agree with most of what you said here except the part about Wilder not being dumb. Have you heard him speak? He's dumb. There are little kids who speak broken English better than Wilder does whose only language is English.
On top of that, he's made a lot of contradictory and straight out delusional comments pre and post Fury/Wilder II. That's his main problem. He doesn't seem smart enough to realize his mistakes and take the necessary steps to correct them.

Has GGG not slowed down though? He's clearly not the fighter he was two or three years ago. It's the result of the natural aging process, regardless of how many rounds you usually go in a fight.

is floyd a good trainer? maybe he is or maybe he's not, he could be great, who know's

he 'could' give wilder confidence in a training camp, show him a few thing's and it all works out great or it could all go badly wrong, it's a bit of a Hail Mary shot i would say

wilders current team could also be given a chance to make things right, after all things were going pretty good for wilder up until fury got fit again
