The announcement in Spanish was that the doctor made the decision. That's what I mean - it was hard to follow because there were so many people speaking Spanish over top of each other, but I definitely heard that part.

I saw what appeared to be Jr. asking for a stop, but then the ref didn't wave it off and then an awkward break, then the announcement that the doctor called a halt to the action due to the cut.

If Jr. had asked for the stop, it should have been a TKO or RTD loss for him - same justification as what happened with Jamel Herring not long ago.

It only goes to the cards for decision if the ref or the doctor stops it off a headbutt cut.

      • It is no longer a shock when Chavez Jr loses a fight.

        • Idec is a shill. This is the kindest write up of that fourth rate boxing fiasco I have seen.

Sr. had to come out retirement to help Jr make a few dollars. Junior embarassed him by quitting against a gym teacher because he had a cut that was barely open or bleeding. DAZN’s production was trash not even Friday Night Fight worthy. Thank you for the Charlo double header. Finally we can get some meaningful boxing!!!

          • Honestly Chavez Jr., despite his lack of passion for the sport, has bad bad luck. With Jacobs he was doing fine against an elite fighter before the nose fracture. With Cazares, it was a headbutt, Cazares was holding and ramming Chavez in the head. Chavez Jr. should have won, I watched the fight live. Matter of fact, Cazares will not go anywhere with his career because of his dirty tactics and holding, which the Mexican fans donīt like.

Mostly in the US, by African-American fighters. Donīt get it twisted.

You know what Mexicans hate more than dirty tactics and holding? Quitters. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is a quitter.

                    • Best part was when they zoomed in on Chavez Sr.'s face at the end and he's like "WTF did I just watch?"
