He did quit. He talked the doctor into stopping the fight so he could get the W. He was telling the doctor to stop the fight. It wasn't the doctor decision.

The announcement in Spanish was that the doctor made the decision. That's what I mean - it was hard to follow because there were so many people speaking Spanish over top of each other, but I definitely heard that part.

I saw what appeared to be Jr. asking for a stop, but then the ref didn't wave it off and then an awkward break, then the announcement that the doctor called a halt to the action due to the cut.

If Jr. had asked for the stop, it should have been a TKO or RTD loss for him - same justification as what happened with Jamel Herring not long ago.

It only goes to the cards for decision if the ref or the doctor stops it off a headbutt cut.

Sr. had to come out retirement to help Jr make a few dollars. Junior embarassed him by quitting against a gym teacher because he had a cut that was barely open or bleeding. With Cazares, it was a headbutt, Cazares was holding and ramming Chavez in the head. Chavez Jr. should have won, I watched the fight live.
