After his upset defeat at the hands of Mario Cazares, Julio César Chávez Jr. expressed his thoughts on the outcome of the fight. “I was doing well,” said Chavez Jr. “Mario Cazares is fast, but he was leading with his head. To be fair the opponent was pretty dirty. Head butting, low blows, excessive holding, even hit Jr with a low blow/headbutt combo at one point ha. I saw him lose but the ref let a lot slide.

But doesn't 'Mexican Style' demand that you fight through such things like a warrior?

EDIT: watched it back. That didn't look like a quit to me, but it was hard to follow with four people speaking Spanish all over each other. But it seemed like Jr. was frustrated that the ref wasn't punishing Cazares. Jr. tossed his fair share of low blows on the inside and didn't get punished, either. It was Norwood/Gainer all over again.

Certainly, the highlight was Jr. pulling a Golovkin and running out of the ring in shame.

Chavez Jr. is a buffoon. Next, he will be fighting Youtubers on DAZN. After that, he will be boxing exhibition matches with Kangaroos in Australia, which of course, will be streamed on DAZN as one of their special "premium" fights.

He did quit. He talked the doctor into stopping the fight so he could get the W. He was telling the doctor to stop the fight. It wasn't the doctor decision.
